These truly are scary/extraordinary times

The job retention scheme appears sensible by the sounds of it. Better than job losses and paying redundancy/notice/job seekers (then lag to economy of reemployment). I just hope people don’t take the piss this as this going to cost us all for a long time to come (but right under the circumstances)

not heard much to disagree with. I'm sure once someone clever gets into the detail of the financial packages they'll be a few gripes but I think it all sounds fairly reasonable. Closing the pubs and restaurants had to happen in my opinion.

If they pay people 80 percent of their wages as long as the company doesn't make you redundant people will still have a lot less money and are unlikely to spend it once we are through this. This means the demand side of the economy is still depressed.

It's a bung to employers. Hope the terms are tight enough that they return to full pay ASAP and are retained in the job for a reasonable period afterwards. It's better but like you say supply side as usual.

I was already concerned. A big reason why I don't want lockdown. You have the personal reasons then you have the bigger picture.

But millions are not listening to what they need to do so it will have to happen.

Yet some still go on about we should have locked down before many got the virus. They still say we have done it all wrong. They refuse to look at the whole picture.

We can afford it, it's always prudent to.borrow when the cost is low. Multipliers show we would of earned even more back in normal times.
