Ah, you're the one then, eh.
I never booed him or anything like that, but I thought he was a very poor player, who could barley pass the ball to his own man even from 5 yards.
Plus, he earned caps for Scotland, thus proving his total lack of ability even more.
Carlton Palmer - he made sure McAllister had space to be creative
Stern John.
In terms of ability he was streets ahead of everyone else we had at the time & a proper striker but was deemed 'lazy' for not wasting energy running around like a headless chicken.
See I disagree. The recycle the ball well. They looked for the best pass. The fact our strikers weren’t always best placed isn’t Clingan’s/Hughes fault.Putting your foot on the ball and then passing it sideways or backwards when under no pressure and completely killing the momentum of a breakaway isn't technical ability - it's taking the easy option.
I probably went to approximately 15 games that season and I swear in all but probably three he was absolutely appalling. Honestly amazed he has gone on to play at a higher level. Still think he will end up back in League 1 before long.Jacob Murphy. Anyone with a brain could see how good of a player he was. But as soon as the crowd got on his back he seam to disappear.
I did too, thought he was technically better than Christie but not as athletic and lost his head sometimesI always liked Jordan Clarke.
Tbf Adebola was heavy and needed to go out on loan, it actually did him some goodDele Adebola. Peter Reid thought he was shite and sent him on loan to Bradford.
Considering the panning you give to any of our young players who aren't being scouted by Prem clubs, you selecting these two donkeys says a lot. Both played in the team that was relegated and the one technically relegated in 97. That said, Williams was likeable for some reason.Paul Williams and Richard Shaw.
Probably not the best but maybe forgiven because of the team they were in.

Morrell was dreadful, the hero worshipping that went on was because he ran about like a headless chicken.Loved Stern John. Also was a big fan of Andy Morrell
Yeah just before he went out on loan he was awful, I remember he managed to miss an open goal from a few yards out. When he came back though he was actually immense.Tbf Adebola was heavy and needed to go out on loan, it actually did him some good

I was a big Sean Flynn fan. Had his name on the back of one of my first City shirts. A bizarre choice in hindsight, but still...For me....
Connor Chaplin
Sean Flynn
He was genuinely shit, about 2 leagues to high for himMorrell was dreadful, the hero worshipping that went on was because he ran about like a headless chicken.

He was definitely a fans' favourite during that period despite a clear lack of ability. He was a lower level leage 1 players at best.Morrell wasn't awful in my opinion. We signed him as a goalscorer and then proceeded to play him on the right wing. I don't remember him being 'hero worshipped' either. We have certainly had many far worse players.
He wasn't that goodHe was definitely a fans' favourite during that period despite a clear lack of ability. He was a lower level leage 1 players at best.
Yeah they have copied and pasted it.Pretty sure the 'Coventry Live' lot have scooped this thread judging by their latest post.
Huzzah! At last, someone else who doesn’t really buy that crap either-welcome to the club!:emoji_thumbsup:Not exactly the question asked... but I don't mind the Villa, or Leicester, or indeed any other club. TBH I find all the hate stuff a bit childish.
Panning? Think most considered would be justified. Are we saying then that now the likes of Burge-Haynes-Willis et al, have moved on that we have not moved forward and in a better position?Considering the panning you give to any of our young players who aren't being scouted by Prem clubs, you selecting these two donkeys says a lot.
