Hardly surprising, a decision will need to be made soon though. Maybe it's just through years of being a Coventry fan but I help escape the feeling that the longer this drags on, the chances of us getting absolutely stuffed increases.

In a draft document for a protocol to return to training, the EFL says the testing program will be funded by the League, which will provide all reasonable logistical support to ensure that the program runs effectively.
The level of testing remains subject to confirmation of Government advice and thetesting process to be advised by the League is currently being finalised.

It's an effective ultimatum for clubs at the bottom end who want to see the season voided completely. Either play and pay or save yourself the cash, vote for PPG and accept relegation.

The point MacAnthony makes about cost of not playing is flawed. If we do manage to play games then they will have to be behind closed doors. In which case fans will be entitled to refunds anyway (if they choose to take them).
If it's true that the EFL are paying for all testing that does make it more feasible.
91 clubs @£140k per club = £12.74m.
Truth is the figure will be higher than £140k each in Championship with bigger squads & support staff so enormous undertaking for them.

The issue is, MacAnthony is unhappy about Rotherham going up based on their position. If he influences the other 5 teams to jump onboard with his grievances against Rotherham's potential promotion then that completely throws that idea out of the window.
The EFL board need to grab their balls and come up with a solution independently. As all I can see happening is meeting, after meeting, after meeting where nothing is agreed expect the date of the next meeting.

You would also assume UEFA would back them up, if you're not part of the FA then forget playing in the Champs League. Also, nobody not in a FIFA recognised league can play for their country. Might test the players resolve to put pride and country first.

Problem is one failed test and the whole thing falls apart. I was bang on getting the season finished and going up the right way but it isn't going to happen.

I'm happy enough if they want to restart and finish the league if that's there decision becuase I am confident we are a great squad, management and team.

It just won't be a level playing field will it? Injured players are now presumably now all fit, and teams can field their strongest sides and get psyched up for a few games remaining.
A season is built on many factors of a 46 game season. (2 less with Bury out) It's about off field ability and not just on field ability.
Clubs who have managed injuries well, have invested in squads that are still capable when a key player has been injured, are part of it. CCFC have a very good squad but to let teams back with injury free squads now alters that playing field, and ultimately could change results dramatically from where they might have been. Is that fair?
All this before you even consider the health implications.

If it keeps rumbling on they're going to have to try and introduce a majority rules system.
You can say they're a shambles but if their rules say they need 75% approval and they haven't got it then what can they do? If they rip up those rules and just do something then they will get sued to shit.

The 6 League One sides that want to resume are trying everything to delay a potential vote to end the season early, makes this situation messier and more confusing
