Is that just to sort out the Bury issue ?

I guess there will have to be relegation in other leagues to make the right amounts.

I’m told that if this PPG points per game system (weighted according to how many home & away matches played) is accepted (for L2), a precedent is then set for how to finalise tables, and then it was applied to Premier League if season didn’t resume, West Ham would drop into bottom 3...

To summarize 3 options, one with a variant

1. Null and void - legal problems; what happens to the L2 promoted teams?
2. Play the games, expensive and bar a few, completely irrelevant
3. PPG (two types) best compromise, but annoys a sufficient number of clubs to make a majority vote insufficient, hence the extra meeting. The argument over which version is going to be fun (not)

McAnthony is just arguing his club's corner, and if we were in his position we would expect Boddy or whoever to do the same. But for the EFL, this is all about getting some kind of consensus with minimal opposition outside shouting in. It takes time as Posh will not give up the ghost until they absolutely have to. Let's face it, they all have time to argue themselves black and blue.

Snowflake did you know some teams would reject it and we have no promotion yet ? I didn’t see you mention this...what’s your next prediction now then this weeks isn’t happening ?

like a true FOMO the guy from PUFC he jumped in before anything was decided giving no room for negotiation, child’s tactics I am afraid. If he waited to see what the art of the possible was it may have worked out better . The guy is an idiot and not any good at business by the look of it.

The League 2 solution makes total sense and makes sense to apply that logic to League 1 too.

With a playoff tournament, the top 6 sides have no complaint there. Whilst Rotherham have been on a downturn of form before the lockdown, you can’t reasonably argue against them getting promoted on a PPG basis as they have been the best team for most of the season.

Weighted PPG settling relegation, automatic promotion and a playoff tournament is the fairest, most practical solution on the table. Frankly, it satisfies all parties involved minus relegated teams.

So I’ve just read if this method is applied to L2 it has to be replicated to the other leagues. This needs to be ratified by 51% of clubs in each league.

Long way to go on this.
