When the last folds are ironed out, Gustavo Hamer exchanges PEC Zwolle for Coventry City. The 22-year-old right leg thus gets his wanted foreign transfer. PEC would have preferred to break open Hamer's contract.
Where colleague Pelle Clement is about to extend his expiring commitment, Hamer opts for the adventure. The Brazilian born had only a one-year contract, so the people of Zwolle were clear: extend or sell.
Hamer is now moving to England. A deal with Coventry City - the leader in League One - has almost been completed. There was also interest from other competitions, but the defender has a strong preference for British football.
Hamer, who was previously under contract with Feyenoord, moved to Zwolle in 2018. The people of Zwolle picked him up after a successful rental period at FC Dordrecht. In Overijssel, like Clement, he became a determining player. It was used both in the back right and in the center of the midfield. He prefers the latter position.

The transfer fee can amount to one and a half million euros.

This is a translation of a Dutch article by the journo who broke the story. Expect it to appear in the CovTel in a matter of minutes

He's a right back? Are we likely to see Dabo move on (he's got to be worth £3m if Mccallum is)? Hope not

Edit - just seen the clip, looks like a ball playing central midfielder, hope he get to to Walsh's level

Just realised I've actually seen this guy play vs Vitesse. Zwolle won 4-3 and he got the opener. Played central midfield and looked quite handy.

Can see his goal from that game about 3 mins into this video. Tidy finish.

Wow that’s a lot of faith being placed by Robins in the recruitment staff after how Kastaneer turned out and Jobello was just okay

Don't think we've got any chance of signing Walsh. Highly rated at Bristol, , was told to go out on loan, play 30 40 odd games and then come back to Bristol and fight to get in the team.

We don't know what SISUs financial situation is, they may be reincarnating operation premiership and going for it this time with the proper management!

He only has a one year option there, why not come here and play week in and week out in the Championship?, sure we'd be willing to offer him 3 years too.

It’s a lot of money to us but in Championship terms it’s very little these days

Luton signed a goalkeeper for the same amount
