“We have had a written offer from Cardiff, as we did from Bristol City last week, and phone calls from a couple of other clubs in the Championship inquiring about Richard's availability and what our thoughts are on the matter,“ confirmed City's development director Steve Waggott, who admits it could be a difficult to hang on to Keogh if a Premier League club comes calling.
“I have said to them that at the moment we are in contractual discussions with him and his agent regarding extending his contract and keeping him at Coventry.
“Our thoughts are to see where we can get to from a Coventry perspective because we would love him * subject to the manager's discussions with him * to take on the captaincy and lead the team back to the Championship. That's where we are at the moment but there may be a different discussion if a club of a higher league status comes in for him.“
