This is literally just a labour ranting thread. Zero objectivity and embarrassing bias.

My party isn’t in power so must slag absolutely everything off that current party is doing!

Would have so much more credibility if actually looked at things objectively.
Cool

Objectively they’ve fucked everything up. The criticism is fair.

Tell us what they've done well then?
12 billion on a trace and track and they used an Excel 2003 spreadsheet that they didn't realise had a limited number of rows.
And the person they put in charge? Previously responsible for the biggest data breach in UK history.

Th is follows on from the PPE and care home fuck ups. So go on, tell us what we should be subjective about?

Lowest employment rate in years, less homeless, highest benifits, more support, climbed out of recession, got brexit done and I m sure lsods more.
Lowest employment? I presume you mean unemployment, but I don't know about that one, give us the figures. Less homeless, obviously bullshit. Walk around town and you'll know that's false. Highest benefits, people actually committed suicide after the introduction of the bedroom tax. More support, why the rise in food banks then?
Climbed out of recession, fantastic. Shame about all the public services that got the hatchet along the way. The deepest cuts: austerity measured

Got Brexit done, Johnson has had to break the law over his oven ready deal that was a load of shite, still no deal in place. Still, people gobbled up his bullshit because blue passports etc.

In short, I'm not convinced.

Do we have a Covid thread anywhere for useful information and discussion. This feels like an episode of The Young ones on loop. More interested in the medical aspect

Yes the thread does go off on a tangent sometimes but I don't think it's possible to remove the political aspect and have a proper debate on the issue.

Plenty of medical discussion in this thread in addition to All the other stuff.

Things like the spreadsheet fiasco are so spectacularly inept and corrupt, it's no wonder those fires burn bright. Even the most dedicated righty would accept government badly lets us down with episodes like that.

Yeh but the Tories are on the verge of never being elected ever again. They will lose the next election and labour will never make the same mistake this time and could stay in power for decades. Therefore why not concentrate on the medical side which is of far more use to a pleb like me

There was a second thread.
In fact I think it started before this one
Then after a while this was designated political and became the premier of the two.

Labour have very little chance of an overall majority in the next election.

Starmer has none of the charisma Blair had and that’s what’s needed given Scotland is virtually a closed shop to labour now

Also it is highly likely Johnson will not want a second term anyway - I doubt he ever did. They will select the correct time for a bounce - probably after 4 years

If the assumption is it's lost, would the sixth year be better?
May depend when and if an enquiry goes ahead ?
Never know it could be sooner.

It feels like we’re doomed to perpetual Tory government

Labour don’t help themselves. A lot of Tory MPs In the north want a motion to either prevent northern lockdown or enhanced support - labour will not vote against the government on the issue

This is your first time on Bill Estersons Twitter feed I see. You’re coming off a bit unbalanced unless you’ve literally never seen a politician on Twitter before. Shall I drag up Nadine Dorries or any of the mental new intake ranting about Marxism?

Right it's time to make you look a right c**t

Lowest Employment rate - I assume you mean Lowest Unemployment rate but this is a misleading figure as this is padded out with part time and zero hours jobs. Also the size of the people who have made themselves economically inactive is increasing. Also the rate has been trending downwards since the mid 90s.

Less Homeless - You been on the meths? Homeless households in England rise by 23% in a year

Homelessness is increasing in both rough sleepers and the more hidden sofa surfers.

Highest Benefits - Benefits will always go up in cash terms but while these increases are less than the rate of inflation in real terms they are less as they offer reduces purchasing power

More support - For what all help groups have damned the government for reducing spending on their sectors

Climbed out of recession -Limped and continually dropped back into recession due to flawed economic ideas based on a spreadsheet error. The UK was coming out the great recession in 2010 but austerity destroyed demand and thus growth dropped.

Got Brexit done - Forgive but are you telling me all the news about the government trying to get and fucking up a trade deal with the EU is fake and it's all been done?

Anyhow.
Personal experience this week .
Wider family 1adult tested, negative,DIY test 4day turnaround.
Closer to home immediate family,1child tested, negative, test Ricoh within 3:hours,result, 42hrs .
Impressed with that and relieved of course.
We booked a test on Tuesday night for 8am the next day at the Ricoh, negative result came in about 6pm the next day. Considering some of the horror stories around I was quite happy with that turnaround

Right but it’s the Tory PM proposing to do it

Explain to me how Labour flips over 120 seats at the next election then

By getting more votes which polling says could happen in 4 years when the election is. Most of the "Red Wall" will return as well.

It was only this year you were saying Trump was deffo going to win what with it virtually impossible for him to now.

It’s pretty clear Brexit is a massive fuck up and the Tories own that start to finish from the fact we had a referendum in the first place, the Tories were very much the face of the official leave campaign and then Tories decided what Brexit actually was in the end. That issue alone could do enough damage to the Tories. Before you even get onto the Covid mishandling, jobs for the boys etc etc.
