just shows what happens when you listen to social media - In july headlines in the CT -

'Former Coventry City striker Jordy Hiwula is said to be attracting interest from a clutch of League One clubs.

Speculation on social media has linked the former Sky Blues forward with Lincoln City, Shrewsbury and Bristol Rovers'

at 26 nobody seems interested which is a surprise - looks like hes going the same way as Biggi

If the L1 and L2 clubs weren’t hit with COVID restrictions, I’m sure someone would take a chance on him. He’s got goals at L1 level so surely someone in League 2 (at least) would be interested. Therefore, it’s probably a case of either him or his agent that is pricing himself out of a move and in the current market. No one is willing to pay the wages he was on with us after a year of him playing next to no football.

Must be tough for him. Unlightly to get a contract for this season under current situation.
We all take the piss out of these players but they face all the same issues about paying the mortgage etc.
No sympathy with Hiwula, he had plenty of chances but MR hinted that he wasnt interested in playing.
I mean just how bad an attitude must you have to be behind Biamou, Baka and Kastaneer in the pecking order?

He had the confidence in front of goal as a headless chicken has trying to run in a straight line

Max and Baka have great attitudes. In fairness Hiwula probably better pedigree, but they're they're still here here in no small part part because of their work ethic.

Fair enough but harsh.

I believe he lost confidence after missing a couple of sitters tbf and knowing his manager, knew he had to improve. Hiwula didn't get many chances after that to prove MR wrong.

As other's have alluded to, he'd defo do a job in L2 or lower L1 side.

Hiwula actually overachieved relative to his actual ability in my opinion.

He was very good at getting into goalscoring positions drifting in off the left & scored a decent amount of goals but at the same time was a real confidence player. Remember MK Dons away last season? I think everyone in the stadium knew he was going to miss that penalty.

Generally he is a very limited footballer with an appalling first touch, erratic finishing & questionable attitude. If the reports of high wage demands are true I'm not overly surprised he's still without a club. Could only see someone like Salford prepared to take a chance on him.

Agree with this completely.

He did my nut in against Wimbledon last year. He scored but missed about 5 sitters and it was becoming clear he couldn’t strike the ball properly. Then that dreadful showing at MK was it for him.

Haven't had much to say about Hiwula as I haven't had the chance to see much of him.

But if his performance record on Wiki is to be believed, he's either had a whole freighter load of bad luck or other managers have seen enough of him to move him on. If Man City and Huddersfield felt he was worth keeping out on loan for 3 years and he still wasn't getting games at the loan clubs..... his record says enough to me to warrant him being either lack lustre or having the wrong attitude for the game.

I'd love to say he will find a club that suits him but it looks like he's had those chances and they've slipped away. Best of luck Jordy in whatever you choose to do next.

If he could replicate the goalscoring form he had at Walsall then there is no reason he wouldnt make it at L2 level

PArt of Hiwula's issue is that hes seemingly more effective when playing out wide, drifting into decent positions, yet he seems to think of himself as a central striker.

If he accepted he was better suited as a wide forward, then he might have a decent career at L1/L2 level, perhaps even getting a crack at the championship if he had a couple of really good seasons in L1

Full seasons with Bradford and Fleetwood, Walsall took him back, Premiership clubs sending players out on loan repeatedly isn't unusual.

Trouble I seen with him when he had scored he sort of gave up in the game seemingly as though he thought his work was done

Competition within the released players this season are bigger than ever all clubs down the pyramid are pulling their waste bands in I would say his opportunities are limited.

He is probably at the level that has been hit most by the pandemic and the wage cap. I think he'd have been top earner here, maybe £3-4k a week? With the wage cap now in League 1 he would be taking a significant drop to go to any League 1 club. I suspect him and his agent have clung on in the hope a Championship club might have a took a punt on him prior to the window closing. The deal till Jan probably is to get him back in the shop window.

Yeah, such an expensive flop. I know Harrison is injured but think that's only a few weeks.

He's not getting the service though apparently, according to my Pompey mates.

A few have asked me what Hiwula is like. I've said I'd be surprised if he fires them further up the table and Marquis is a better option (service pending).
