of course we will, i don't know what everyone is so worried about, all teams in that league are rubbish and the core of out team is already proven in league one

but we will sign players

your telling me there are 20 teams with a better line up than that? i dont think there will be

We may have players that are capable or better than average at this level, but the size of our squad will be our downfall.

We will sign players at some point, I've no doubt about that. Waggots role would be obsolete if we weren't planning on at least a few signings.

i know there is a lot of talk on squad sizes.... but the majority of teams in L1 do not have big squads. The money just isn't there for most.

Swindon are going for it as L2 champs with the wind in their sails and promotion winning money so are the attractive bet.

We will survive. Get some experience in and we can make a fight for the play offs.

With the squad as it is now approx 17 players including 6 academy boys................NO FOOKING CHANCE! two or three injuries and we won't even field a team ffs!

How many goals realistically does that team have in it ?

Wycombe went down scoring 65 league goals last year

I think we are in for a shock, big strong teams in this league... As for we are better than teams on paper!!!!!! paper means fook all when you are running out of shit changing rooms on a cold night in Brentford while they are right up for it and the young lads are moaning,,, its not like the rioch.......

Goals...Obvioulsy a guess, but here goes

Murphy
Clarke (1) , Wood (4) , Cameron (1), Hussey (1)
baker (6), degan (3), Thomas (2), Bell (5)
Mcdonald (15), Mcsheff (10)

Thats me being generous, and that comes to 47 goals....

Just need another 18 to match relegated Wycombe last season !

Correct !!

We will struggle away due to being too lighweight, and will struggle at home due to it being a "big tie" for most away teams

im not letting all your negativity effect me im positive about next season. with a couple of signings i think we shall do quite well, and i will be on this forum next may with a big smug grin on my face saying i told you so!!

Hahaha 47 goals and you have been more than generous! I'm more concerned than ever really. I dont see us bringing in more than 1 person who would start ahead of any of that lot. And it will probably be to replace one of them when they surprisingly leave.

I know a walsall supporter that tells me that we need strength in our team at this level. Wood will be injured half the season, Macpake will be sold or injured if he stays and Keogh will probably be sold as well. No height or strength in midfield. No height or strength in attack. I really hope we do well but if we don't bring in at least 2 midfielders and two attackers we will towards the bottom of league 1

Deegan(if he's still here after tweetgate) will definitely score more than 3 if playing majority of games next season. And Baker will get into double figures playing just behind the main strikers. Thats where he played for stockport when we bought him

Doubled Deegans and put Baker into double figures

We now have 54

Any more

I think I'm gonna leave this forum for a couple of months and come back when we are top of the league otherwise I might have to call The samaritans ;)

Not sure. Think we might see how good Thorn really is this season. The players we have are around this level and Thorn will have to make them and his tactics shine to stay near the top.

Wycome also conceded 88 goals, the highest in the division.

Bournmouth finished 11th with 48 goals and Tranmere 12th with 49

I ca't see AT playing sheff as a striker, so if he goes with the diamond it will probably be sheff in the hole and baker in the slightly deeper right centre mid role. If he plays here he won't get into double figures.

Agree with you on this. But get a new striker to partner cody and you could have bell and sheff out wide with baker behind front two. And murphy as penalty taker. Can't be any worse than juke,clingan,sheff

yes of course,current squad keeps us up, people are over reacting in that sense

but staying up isnt good enough,how far down must we go till we challenge at the top?!!!!

murphy
dunn
===
hussey
keogh
cameron
cranie
clarke
christie
mcpake
===
baker
bell
thomas
brigirimama
deegan
mcsheffrey
===
macdonald
O'Donovan
Jeffers

18 man squad right now,if we dont lose any then bang bang bang isnt actually needed imo, just 1-2 midfielders,1 striker and 1 LB cover(altho clarke can shift there)

however the chances of keeping them are slim so in reality we need 3-5 signings ideally

still current squad stays up easy imo maybe even challenge

the core is there SISU,just strengthen it and you have got a promotion chasing team for once!

your telling me there are 20 teams with a better line up than that? i dont think there will be

Murphy = Not bad at this level.
Clarke = Defensively he is rubbish.
Wood = Good but injury prone
Cameron = could have a decent season
Hussey = average at best
Baker = do i really need to say anything here?
Degan = average
Bell = Cack
Cody = If he can stay fit shoul dhave a decent season
McSheff = lost his pace but may do a job in this division.

Where is the backup? We know Cody is injury prone, as is Wood and Cameron. We have zero striking options off the bench except RoD who can't score for sh*t, and Shaun Jeffers who let's face it is not exactly going to set the world alight.

Our "best" starting 11 is average at best, however it is our paper thin squad that will be our downfall, as it always is. Until we get investment, or The Hoff pulls his finger out we had all better get used to life as L1 strugglers.

Happy days :)

I'd suggest you all read through the club's accounts. The club itself was in debt by £55 million in June 2011, and its holding company made a loss of £9 million. The accounts also read that 'the potential to reach the League One playoffs cannot be discounted', which suggests very grim prospects indeed.
