I'll wait for Shmmeee to come along and tell me to get off twitter, but has anyone else seen the response to these adverts? They're absolutely disgusting.

I'm the first person to come along and shout pc gone mad, but the reaction to this is well over the top and actually pretty upsetting.

At a shit time like now, a positive advert of a family having a laugh over Christmas is pretty welcome. Some people getting all upset because the family is black and they are shouting 'woke' and threatening a boycott. How horrible is that? They shouldn't be fucking breeding. Vile pricks.


I hope I'm not becoming a leftist or something, but this really pissed me off.

I saw the advert, thought it was lovely. Didn’t see the outrage. Sadly not surprised. This seems to happen every time a company uses non white actors.

Pretty heartwarming advert that I bet a lot of people are relating to. Unless you have a union jack by your name on twitter in which case it seems that YOU ARE NEVER SHOPPING AT SAINSBURYS AGAIN!!

I've seen the advert and nothing registered in my head that there was anything wrong with it (because there isn't).

But I do get flustered by the constant drive for inclusivity at the moment. I saw a report that suggested the number of "ethnic minorities" in the media is disproportionate to the general population.

It's a real shame that corporations are targeting people like Nicola Adams for strictly, just so they can tick inclusivity boxes.

If I worked in the industry I’d deliberately only cast black actors just to wind the idiots up. It’s the only way they’re going to get over it, burn themselves out with unnecessary anger. Eventually they’ll get used to it, problem over.

On an unrelated Christmas advert theme. There seems to be a competition on social media on who has cried the most at one. Now I have admired the creativity and message of some of them but not felt the need to have “sobbed my heart out” or “totally lost it” so my question is

1/ am I dead inside?
2/ are said people attention seekers

There was nothing wrong with it but you get flustered by the constant drive for inclusivity, have a day off.

There was a Twitter "storm" a couple of months back when a contestant on The Chase took a minus offer. They were called every name under the sun and people were outraged.


The world has gone mad.

I think people are just braindead now and try to just act emotional.

I used to like looking at comments of a middle aged bloke on Tiktok doing an awkward rehearsed dance routine and looking like he's having a fit.

"Your videos make my day"
"You smashed that trending dance"
"It makes me so happy to see these dances"
"Ignore the hate, you are on point"

It's like people type overly emotional stuff just to try and compete. Fuck off you bellends.

It's not as if the Sainsburys ad is saying "we wish black people a happy christmas but not you pasty white fuckers".

I'm sure the CEO's of BP, Nike, British Gas etc all had a meeting where they all demanded the BBC put a black gay female boxer on Strictly so they could tick off an imaginary box. I'm certain that is what is going on.

Whenever someone accepts a minus offer on the Chase I'm instantly willing them to lose. Wouldn't send death threats or anything but maybe egg their windows if they live nearby. Not having it

Nicola Adam’s deserves a place less than Ann Widdicombe why?

I don’t see how she’s “ticking boxes”, but then I don’t cry when I see lesbians on TV 🤷

Can't see how this advert could annoy anyone that isn't a racist.

Black and ethnic minority groups have been under-represented on TV for a long time or even worse; portrayed in ways that are inherently racist. It's about time the tables turned somewhat so that people get used to seeing non-white folk on their TV screens without feeling "frustrated".

I think actually black people are over represented and Asians massively under represented. But yeah, this is just about people being uncomfortable seeing black people.

It’s not even like they’re doing a “black Christmas” (whatever that might be), if you changed the skin colour it would be indistinguishable from any Christmas ad ever.

They've also done a few and there's one with a white family. The only reason for being annoyed at this is being a big old racist.
