Think it's a difficult one to forecast
As Robins has said it's essentially bruising to his foot which needs time to heal
In the past I suppose players would have had an injection to kill the pain

Things are going OK without him for now - a chance for Walker to get up to speed.

Googled Plantar fasciitis as suggested - says to go back to your G.P. if it hasn't gone in two weeks, presumably after two weeks would take a week or two to get back to full fitness so would say 3-4 weeks?

I’d think for us mortals it would be a case of limping around for weeks but Godden will have is foot elevated off the ground not putting any weight on it until it’s cleared up. I’m hoping he’ll be back very soon.

I had Plantar Fasciitis for about 7 years. It's extremely common and can be difficult to remedy.

I eventually did lots of stair raises and calf strengthening through a decent amount of pain to sort mine.

Asked if he's hopeful the striker will be available for the Derby match, Robins said: “No."
“The specialist has said it’s going to take months, or a long time, for it to recover.

“And it’s just a case of when the pain can be tolerated."

Months is when the foot fully recovers. He will play through pain way before the foot recovers this is what Robins is saying

I think it's more like Robins is suggesting that Godden is going to be in and out of the side for months.

How often Godden will get out onto the pitch will be based on his fitness and pain management. It'll literally be a matter of wait and see.

It's a common injury for runners too - and footballers do a hell of a lot of demanding running. A lot depends on how it's managed and how successfully the gradual rehabilitation is managed / accepted. Could be six weeks, could be much longer. Yet another one of those injuries which can be described as (glances at medical manual) 'fuckers'.

No luck with injuries. Had this a few years ago when I was hammering the treadmill every day. Sounds like nothing but hurts like hell.

How has he got plantar fasciitis from being kicked on the foot? Or is this not related to him going off injured the other week?

Why? Because Biamou and Baka are both not good enough for this league.
Striker in January is a must,I said pre season our success will be down to Godden and if we keep him fit luckily I think walker is Gonna be ok for us this season but we need another

Long term Walker will be a better player than Godden but we really need another striker in Jan if Godden is out for a sustained period.

We have one of the lowest budgets in the league. We don't have the cash to be spending money on our 3rd and 4th choice strikers.

People seem to be wanting 15 goals from our 3rd choice striker. Have some perspective.

Didn't Godden have another injury like this last season? One of those that is so acute it is difficult to treat

Wanting a striker that contributes more than Baka did on Saturday is not wanting a 15 goal a season striker.

As much as I agree with posters who don't believe Baka and Biamou are up to the standard required this season, we unfortunately have to accept that they're probably going to be here until the summer. We're just not in a financial position to be replacing back-up options with 'better' and higher paid players.

Also, if you take Robins' previous comments literally it's looking increasingly unlikely that we're going to be making any signings in the January transfer window and therefore may just have to cope with what we already have at our disposal. The signing of Camp probably hasn't helped us in this regard either.

Other than the odd loanees Robins has never tended to strengthen in January anyway has he?

A lot harder to follow the transfer model mid season anyway I’d expect. Inflated prices and clubs wanting to get immediate replacements in etc.

he may well have torn the fascia, which is a big band of muscle fibres that go around the middle of the foot from instep to outside, and hold tendons, ligaments and muscles in place. Could have happened if he got a kick on his instep
