Whats the update on Godden. Originally had an injury to the bottom of his foot but no details given as to what. Didnt seem to be to serious but hes now been out for three weeks and no update on what his injury is or when he may be back ?

Think it's a difficult one to forecast
As Robins has said it's essentially bruising to his foot which needs time to heal
In the past I suppose players would have had an injection to kill the pain

Happened to me back in the day and rested it for 2 weeks then carried on playing through the pain, over 20 years later and it’s still a problem.

Googled Plantar fasciitis as suggested - says to go back to your G.P. if it hasn't gone in two weeks, presumably after two weeks would take a week or two to get back to full fitness so would say 3-4 weeks?

I’d think for us mortals it would be a case of limping around for weeks but Godden will have is foot elevated off the ground not putting any weight on it until it’s cleared up. I’m hoping he’ll be back very soon.

I had Plantar Fasciitis for about 7 years. It's extremely common and can be difficult to remedy.

I eventually did lots of stair raises and calf strengthening through a decent amount of pain to sort mine.

I think it's more like Robins is suggesting that Godden is going to be in and out of the side for months.

How often Godden will get out onto the pitch will be based on his fitness and pain management. It'll literally be a matter of wait and see.

Long term Walker will be a better player than Godden but we really need another striker in Jan if Godden is out for a sustained period.

Didn't Godden have another injury like this last season? One of those that is so acute it is difficult to treat

Wanting a striker that contributes more than Baka did on Saturday is not wanting a 15 goal a season striker.

As much as I agree with posters who don't believe Baka and Biamou are up to the standard required this season, we unfortunately have to accept that they're probably going to be here until the summer. We're just not in a financial position to be replacing back-up options with 'better' and higher paid players.

Also, if you take Robins' previous comments literally it's looking increasingly unlikely that we're going to be making any signings in the January transfer window and therefore may just have to cope with what we already have at our disposal. The signing of Camp probably hasn't helped us in this regard either.

A lot harder to follow the transfer model mid season anyway I’d expect. Inflated prices and clubs wanting to get immediate replacements in etc.

he may well have torn the fascia, which is a big band of muscle fibres that go around the middle of the foot from instep to outside, and hold tendons, ligaments and muscles in place. Could have happened if he got a kick on his instep
