Not really fair comparisons to. The uk though are they?

Australia is 3/4 the size of America and 25m population vs what 300m?

New Zealand 5m population vs UK 70 million.
New Zealand is what 10% bigger than the UK with not even 10% the population.

I should of stated my original comment was any major country

you do know what per capita means don't you?

You do realise what population density is right?

so why are there places which are more populous with less per capita deaths?
And you mentioned Sweden, they were being held up by daft tories and conspiracy theorists as the shining example of how to go, carry on pretty much as normal, no masks, they're now admitting they made an arse of it.

Nice to have politicians who admit their mistakes at least.

Also the uk maybe a island but we are a hub for world wide travel, alot of layoffs happen here and many other European cou trys.
How much of the Aus and NZ economy relies on tourism? Yet they made the right decision in curtailing travel. Who cares if we are a hub for travel - the government had a choice to make, and like with everything they abscond from any kind of responsibility.

It why would they shit down air travel instantly with very little evidence coming out of China?

We’re not talking about instantly - this could happen happened in March, April even going into May.... but no - our arrogant shitshow of a government thought they knew better.
But it was restricted for the majority of it apart from workers and returning people, or have you forgot about that? The whole travel industry was crying.

Why would we? Last outbreak was what Spanish flu in 1918? Majority of viruses originate from Asia so ofcourse they are more prepared than we are.

Professor Anthony Costello has been warning governments (starting with Blairs) for the last 18 years.
The tory government carried out a pandemic drill in 2016, exercise Cygnus, and ignored it's recommendations, so again, why weren't we prepared?

And what evidence have you the majority of viruses originate in Asia? It seems covid did, and I know SARs and bird flu did, but swine flu and Spanish flu was the States.

Once you get past the city counties like Singapore, Macau etc and the small island nations South Korea is one of the most densely populated countries in the world.

It wasn’t restricted though was it? People could still enter or leave the country restriction free.... just make some bullshit excuse up. We weren’t even doing basics like temperature checks at Arrivals.....

Stats show the most of them originate from Asia, there is even science that shows the Spanish flu may of originated from Asia, and its simple really health and safety here is by far beteer than there.

Believe it or not non long before all this kicked of the WHO rated us as one of the top countries (No.2 IIRC) placed to deal with a pandemic. Shows how wrong the government has got it.

No they simply gave people strict instructions to isolate when returning, as soon as one case was here it was already to late its a virus it spreads, the only way it would be gone is if we locked down until it vanished from this country or infected everyone.

Wouldn't happen here due to population density and the amount of people here anyway, it's common sense that tells you if we locked down fully most wouldn't listen to. The rules, as they didn't earlier this year.

Not sure how closing your borders is an issue here. It’s not like you can choose to ignore that is it?
