Interesting that no one said Godden was isolated playing the lone role today.

It is clear certain excuses are only reserved for certain people's 'do no wrong players'.

Walker is a poacher, Godden is a bit more of an all round player. The former needs a partner more than the latter, though they both need one anyway

This thread is ridiculous. Lol.

Are we fucking concerned. Not at all.

I wonder if some folks watch any of our games.

No doubt if we went all out. The thread would have been 13 goals conceded in last 5 games.

Keep picking up points like the last 5/10 games. Then we stay up.

A big strong ST and an effective AM have to be top priority along with replacing McCallum and Østigård in the summer. Lots to do if we are to establish ourselves. Will be interesting to see the appetite for it from the owners.

Dabo said in his interview earlier in the week that he expects us to stay up and then aim for the premier league next season.

Clearly the squad have been briefed by Joy and the owners will be investing massively with a view to promotion to the top flight in 2022 👌🏻😊

Not ridiculous though is it? As there is an array of different opinions on it. If it was ridiculous everyone would be saying the same thing surely? 🤔

Tbf we got Allen and O'Hare a lot closer to him first half. Second half he was isolated must have only touched the ball twice.

Another reasons we're not creating/scoring enough, our only attacking outlet is Dabo on the right.

Heres todays stats.

Makes Giles’ omission the entire game baffling. Interestingly the Stoke commentary said that Dabo’s tiredness worked in his favour as he stayed deeper and focused on nullifying McClean

Both Godden and Walker are good strikers - we could do with a 3rd option. But, the issue is creativity and that comes from midfield.

Our creative output is limited to COH, Hamer and Dabo. Frankly, take Hamer out, there’s nothing really coming from our midfield in terms of goals. Secondly, despite having a capable set piece taker, our defenders aren’t scoring as many as you’d like.

We went into this division full in the knowledge that we’ll be at the bottom end of this league and we need to consolidate and build a squad over a few seasons.

We’re not scoring, but we’re not conceding either, so I’m not particularly concerned at this moment.
O’Hare made some really poor decisions when in good positions today, and hasn’t been particularly creative. Ryan Giles can run past players and has a sweet left foot. I would start him, and bring O’Hare on as an impact sub.

Form guide
last 6 games 9th. 9 points, scored 5 conceded 3
last 8 games 13th. 11 points, scored 7 conceded 5
last 10 games 12th. 15 points, scored 8 conceded 5
last 12 games 13th. 15 points, scored 11 conceded 10
last 4 home games 13th. 6 points, scored 3 conceded 1
last 4 away games 10th. 5 points, scored 4 conceded 4
Whichever way you look at it, since we tightened up our style of play we are mid table.
Looks ok to me.
We have only scored 8 goals in the last 10 games, but we scored 12 in the first 11 games against mainly top teams, so we know we can score.
As far as I can see, MR has always preferred tight games rather than trying to score one more than the opposition.

I get why people are a bit alarmed that we aren’t scoring goals. There are patches of games that really open up for us and we don’t take it. COH needs a rest, he’s been wasting far more than creating. Suddenly looks panicked on the ball too.

One of my biggest concerns is the form and output from O'Hare. Not just goal scoring but creativity. He has played 2,119 minutes of football since his last assist.

He has been out biggest disappointment for me this season. Allegedly our highest paid player on 10k a week but very little to justify it on our limited budget. He's young and inexperienced so hopefully will improve a lot in the next couple of years.

I can’t believe he will be on 10k a week.

He’s so frustrating at times everything is done at a frantic pace he needs to just learn to slow it down at the crucial times yesterday he could of laid in Godden twice the first he tried to pass to Allen in the box then when he had the chance to square to Godden he just mis kicked it to the keeper.Cant fault his work off the ball and out of possession but he’s so frustrating to watch just doesn’t have any end product we’re massively missing creativity in that role no coincidence the goals have dried up,it’s another area for me we need to look at in Jan.

Serious lack of pace in the forward players which wasn't a particular issue when we pressing high up the pitch and playing through teams in league one.

I am more than happy with how we are doing. Yes I'd like us scoring more be we have stopped leaking goals incredibly well. These draws are points gained without a shadow of a doubt. Every point is a point closer to safety and the vast majority on here all accepted a tough year of transition and if we can stay up then it is a great job done by everyone.

We have held the 7th placed team and 1st half thought we caused them problems albeit lacking that clinical edge. Stoke have the most clean sheets so we are not the first and won't be the last to not score against them.

We are doing as well as I thought, Robins knows if we stay up extra quality is needed to build again but he is doing a great job with everything considered.

Bring on Preston.

Also Merry Christmas everyone!

I missed the Stoke game (first game I haven’t seen this year) so I can’t comment on that but I’m more than happy with scrappy / boring points against teams like stoke.

This season is just about staying up by any means necessary so we can enjoy some of the championship stadiums next season when hopefully things are opened up again

It doesn't help we have had some horrendous injury misfortune

Godden 6 weeks
Kelly 3 months
Walker 6 weeks
Marosi 6 weeks

Chuck in Dabo and Rose's injury issues over the summer and we haven't been able to field our strongest 11 once

This is probably the best post all season so far. Because we haven’t been able to field our best side we’ve had to constantly change formation, personel and tactics and our biggest strength last season was consistency. You really do have to take your hat off to Robins and Adi for how they’ve coped with this and have weathered the storm and given us a fighting chance.

Not also forgetting that Hamer got a 3 game ban early doors either he has learned/been brought up to speed quickly.

It can’t be said with confidence that he’s learned. He still likes to deliver his private quota of unnecessary tackles. Like when he took out two of them yesterday, in as many seconds.

Same his final product is abysmal but can’t knock his work off the ball
Would be interesting to know is stats for fouls conceeded. He gives his all and while this season the end product hasn't been as good, he does seem to frighten the opposition and win free kicks up the pitch.

The lack of goals is a concern but unlike last year, we're chasing 4th from bottom. Keeping a clean sheet is the important thing.

I remember reading on Facebook or on here (can’t remember which, maybe both) last season that O’Hare is better than Grealish LOL!
In all seriousness he needs to watch how Jack controls a game and changes pace at will. Everything with O’Hare seems so rushed, he needs to calm down a bit and start bossing games

But, if we don’t score goals, how soon will it be that we start to lose games 1-0, as we did at Wednesday? We may stay up on 0-0 draws, if teams below us don’t get points, but a few goals and wins would help! We’ve had injuries which haven’t helped. We know that Godden can take chances, but we’re not really making good chances at the moment, just half chances.
