According to some rumours the EFL are launching an investigation in to why some clubs have postponed matches for false reasons (m sure @Nick said this would happen)

Some clubs have been breaking Covid protocols by not using multiple buses and not giving players own hotel rooms.


Some rumours of the clubs being investigated Rotherham, Bournemouth and Sunderland (These are just rumours iv seen)


Will be interesting to see who is under investigation and what the punishment will be.

It was always obvious that people would play the game.

Same with concussion substitutes, happened in cricket already.

India's Jadeja injured his hamstring batting against Australia but continued, later got hit on the head, still kept batting and made 44 from 23 balls, out of a total of 161-7. In the break before Australia batted he was substituted due to concussion and replaced with a specialist bowler who went on to take 3-25 and win man of the match!

Man City had two players out for Boxing Day and played. Subsequent tests found multiple others positive so would think would have had 4 or 5 out for yesterday plus players having to isolate

The initial failed tests were two named players, Jesus and Walker, and two staff. The additional failed tests just said after testing players and staff which makes me wonder if any additional players were ruled out.

Think people are mixing themselves up here. Sunderland are being investigated to see if they have been strict enough in enforcing coronavirus protocols. Not to see if they’ve been inventing coronavirus cases in order to have a day off.

Unless people think teams are falsifying cases (or deliberately infecting their players with coronavirus) just because they didn’t feel like playing for some reason, I’m not sure why points deductions would come into it.

Rotherham and Bournemouth should be given 12 points deduction and Sunderland -24 pts deduction.

This sums it up. Teams are under huge pressure to fulfil their fixtures, not to cancel them. The idea that teams would risk a points deduction just because they fancied a rest has always been ridiculous.

The rules have been clear since, well 1997, when they kept us up - fuck around with postponing fixtures for dodgy reasons, and you could lose points.

If Tranmere players have been car sharing then I’d rather assume that was because of sloppy application of the COVID rules (imagine that!) rather than some conspiracy to throw a game because they’re tired. Deliberately exposing your players to a deadly virus because you don’t fancy next week’s opponents seems a bit extreme to me.

Exactly, "could" lose points. It's at discretion which means it is made up as they go along.
