He was excellent.

However I put it on the match thread; is that is norm or did he have the game of his life? If it’s the former I’m surprised we haven’t seen him before, even if at LWB.

Can we find a way to get him and Dabo in the team? He is reported to be able to play LWB, but he looked very right footed so not sure he’d have the same impact.

Lets hope he’s as good against stronger opposition the next few games. It’ll certainly test his defensive attributes.

We should take into consideration that Forest had resolved to sit back second half. He will probably look a different player when he has to defend (Norwich cup game before they scored). Very promising though.
Ok but can you imagine him on the counter attack ?

I didn't think he was as great as people made him out to be. They were very favourable circumstances for him and don't think he was in control of a thing he did ball at feet. Only a couple of the crosses were actually decent too, half the time he was just kicking it as hard as he could into the box.
Disagree the lad was unbelievable struggling to remember a full back for us with that level of performance at this level tbh I haven’t seen dabo do that yet

Dabo who? 😜 the main positive from this evening. Has to start on Saturday and get at Watford in the same manner.

@Esoterica

I’ll also say if he carries on like that dabo won’t get back into the side

Steady on! He had free run of the flank tonight for 45 minutes because Forest sat back purposely and didn’t even mark him when we had the ball in midfield.

Dabo has been end to end in all game circumstances and was player of the season last year. He is good at both ends of the pitch.

As I said, let’s see how DaCosta fares when the game is level or we are ahead and he’s pushed back and has to defend. He’ll get his chance, no need to hold him up as the new saviour after 45 mins. Equally no need to write him off if he struggles next time out.

That’s unduly harsh, I thought there were 4 or 5 good crosses, but different types as well. Point taken on the game situation though.

He played a few volleyed crosses, a sweet curling ball from the edge of the 18 yard box, a few drilled crosses, and several great passes into the central midfielders. Don't think he put a foot wrong. And I'm sure MR said he had high hopes for him before his initial injury.

He was probably man of the match today for his second half performance, but the circumstances were very favourable for him, he had no defending to all at all, and had free run on the wing. Got a few good balls in, but also wasted a few crosses too.

We will only see how good he is when he plays against good wingers and has to defend for long periods.

Looked impressive tonight, although didn't have to do any defending really so will be interesting to see how we gets on vs a team that isn't sitting back.

Teams sitting back favours him but so does counter attack when we are under pressure

This. It's promising, but it's one game against a team who were happy to sit back and defend a lead.

He was on fire, really unmanageable for twenty five minutes and then shattered and barely running for the ball for the remainder of the half.

I don’t get this “oh they were defending”

So why wasn’t McCallum ripping it up too?
I don't think McCallums played well consistently since he came back this season, he does seem to be targetted by teams or maybe thats just coincidence that other teams have better attacking right wide players than left
