1 up with hamer I presume playing next to o hare?

Or he's playing 5311

I like this team. One of Hamer or James will be pushed up to support as and when and one drop back with Kelly in the midfield 3.

Strong midfield.

Think this team again is designed to keep ot tight first 70 them go for it last 20. Always seems a bit negative with striker.

5-Blah-1 again. Not a single player who can shoot straight or cause any defensive issues whatsoever. Great.

Well I was confident. Happy to keep it to 2-0 now. We’re going to need to pull off some big results later on if we keep refusing to go for winnable games.

Drop your top scorer FFS.

Not have a pop at you, just a general point about playing a lone man, whoever it is. But if you playing one up front, you've got to have players running in behind them. This rarely happens, even O'Hare who has been brilliant does all his work in front of the striker between the opposition midfield and defense.

We've seen time and again this season, the lone striker being isolated and having to do all their work with the back to the goal. Even Hamer who always looks our most likely goal threat from midfield, has most of his chances from pot shots 18+ yards away from goal.

Whilst going long isn't our style, we aren't good enough to breakteams down when we play a slower build up play, especially when teams get men behind the ball. We really lack proper pace in all areas of the pitch.

Interesting and see what you are saying, but that's becuase we don't try it often enough. Kelly of all people scored two good goals before getting injured by doing just that tatic. Allen is the player I was thinking of more. He does have some pace and I recall when he first came here he looked exactly that sort of player. I agree it's difficult but we do like a possession game and the extra man in a midield spot will help us do that. The lone striker has to be someone who has a finihing prowess such as Walker but more so Godden who will come a little deep to get the ball too. Certainly while Dabo and McCallum seem less effective going forward at the moment it would be the way I would go. Derby today have great possession stats even when beaten, so we need to try and keep the ball. The funny thing is Robins will pick a side none of us saw coming, so what do we know about football? :)

as team selections go that's a bit leftfield.
3 strikers on the bench!
Surprised he hasn't dropped Wilson as well.

Think its going to be relying on Hamer as a threat from outside the box.

Agree - add O'Hare to Hamer in that respect of running at them from the edge - with Kelly and James holding it together behind. Makes sense, but will get obvious stick if it doesn't work, due to the lack of strikers (and to be fair, Walker was off the pace last game), Come on City !!

Walker clearly lacking fitness. Would've been nice to see him start but we can always bring both Walker and Godden on.

You may all be right. But it didn’t work last game and we are changing some things so let’s trust him a little ??

You right. I thing Robins had to change something. Just hope O’Hare and/or Hamer can get forward quickly enough to support Biamou. Hoping the formation also allows our wing backs to get further up pitch than in recent games.

People complained how poor Walker and Gyo were last time out and then complain we only have 1 up front today...

Anything but that awful midfield shape. Walker, Baka, Bapaga, anyone but we’re going to end up 8-1-1 under this formation it happens every time. Wingbacks become full backs all three natural DMs draw back to the edge of the box, O’Hare comes back too to find the ball and Max wanders about chasing big pumps up field.

Meanwhile the fucking chuckle brothers tribute act at the back gifts at least one goal away anyway despite the entire team playing in a 30 yard space from our own goal.

Not sure if I’ve mentioned but I’m not a fan.

Hard to see where the goals are coming from in this line up - or any line up really 😜. As Evo said, hamer and O’Hare have to get close and support Biamou. Looks like we’re trying to keep it tight and win the midfield battle. Hopefully we’ll get 20 minutes out of Godden whatever the score.

I don’t think it’s a must-win game, but it’s definitely don’t lose.

Think we'll definitely be using the subs more today.

Perhaps MR feels Walker needs a bit of a breather given he's come straight back in & played nearly every minute, fair enough.

Just seen the team news. Much as i wanted. More in midfield. Expect hamer to push forward looking for a goal. Max over Walker? Thats simply a decision to make the ball stick and get support up over Walker. can see changes early with Godden and Walker late on unless we are in a winning position. Fully expect Ositgarrd to be up for every corner, free kick. glad he's back.

We try and win every football match nick... How we set up doesn't alter that fact mate

We might settle late on for points but we don't go put to play for a draw

Birmingham is a perfect example.

I havent said we are today but will see how we line up, can usually tell.

The formation change is quite interesting. How can the opposition prepare for us when they have no idea which formation we'll play? Think we might surprise one or two people today.

I can only justify Walker being out as not being fully fit.
