Twitter is absolutely the worst platform for debate on the internet. The whole character limit, the following, the individual focus.

Great broadcast platform as it was designed. Absolute cesspit that just encourages throw away remarks, trolling, and bad faith.

I love it.

It's not going away, is it? The constant sniping, cancel, outrage, the tribalist nature that happens every time something happens. It's just all rather boring now and for some reason, people pay attention to it as though it's the thoughts of the country/world and it's important. A women has tragically died and all people can do is fight. It's all rather sad.

I'm honestly tired of it all now.

I posted the other day saying that cancel culture wasn't right. Someone then inferred I was racist for siding with Piers Morgan and then proceeded to tag my old employer with a direct question asking why was I allowed to be employed there and trying to push for me getting sacked.

My actual feed is OK, pretty much just football, cricket and hockey stuff with a few random actors & musicians thrown in. Have to avoid clicking on the trending topics, so easy to find you've lost an hour and got yourself worked up for no reason.

I just don't get why just being understanding of the concerns women may have is such a big thing and upsets so many people?

fucking weird

It isn't.

It is the fact you now have a gender war brewing. A poor girl has lost her life by the look of it, and it is being weaponsied by the women who hate men, to spread their bilge. Men are therefore getting overly defensive in some places and then you have playground bickering going on.

Honestly. The world has gone fucking mad.

There was a bloke just on BBC 24 .
V interesting and it seems to do with male ability to empathise for whatever reason.

I'd advise anyone confused by it all to wind it back to around 820-25 and give him a listen.

It's mental isn't it, the woke left wing brigade are trying to silence the voice of good, honest, hard-working right wingers. It's disgraceful how someone will try and ruin your life for having a different opinion.

That's the sad thing. Women have said they don't feel safe going out at night and tbh, I don't either. We've had loads of stabbings in Cov lately and if given the choice to leave, I'd probably go very fast. Cities just aren't safe. There's no police walking around anymore. It's not like that alone would stop awful things from happening but it would stop many trying their luck. At the moment, they know they'll get away with doing whatever they want and might pay the price later. It's a risk they're willing to take as we've seen.

Actually it wasn't Piers Morgan.

I called Ant Middleton an inspiration, after his books helped with my mental health. This person then tagged my old employer and asked them why they employed a racist wife beating sympathiser.

I haven't tweeted since.

Not having a dig but is there anything as a woke right winger? Just out of curiosity.

Being completely narrow here but I think just possibly it's not New .
The platforms are thoroughly out of control and a force for the demise of society , obviously they are capable of good too,but I seriously think the destabilising effect outweigh any benefit .Regards cancel culture and campaigns I see it as a transference or implementation of what nation's do, like sanctions or any campaign trying to get other countries to change policy/ behaviour

Exactly I'm a 6ft bloke and I have made sure I've crossed the road to avoid gangs of lads before, guys what harm does it do you to cross the road when passing a lady or slowing down a tad so you aren't right behind them?

What a superb phrase! Back from a spot of hard - working genocide in the day, to don a white hood for some cheery cross burning in the evening to relax.

It's the use of woke my people who don't know what it means.

Also I'm a "lefty" and I work as well, in fact so do all the other "lefties" I know.

Weird flex

Yeah but you’d rather be sat off on your arse. Not like those hard working righties. They’d work for free if only Tony Bloody Blair hadn’t banned it.

I think it's fucking weird that you appear to think that some of the posters here don't share the concerns of women in this matter. It's simply that some don't believe yet another round of identity politics or crossing the road is going to change anything.

I genuinley despise it, although I admit once a day I click on trending.. Mainly to see what's happened around the globe and usually end up feeling like planting my face through cow pat once I've finished

Think most people naturally do these things anyway.. Because they feel uncomfortable making others uncomfortable.

I dont think any more can be done within reason... Weirdos will always find a way

So what is?

Do we think it's fair to say that the men who commit these crimes are going to be impervious to 'social education'. I simply can't imagine that they would be otherwise. I can't see the linkage from 'changing a misogynistic' society to ridding us of the tiny percentage of adults that would do such things - not least, because you can't change genetics. Yes, men can cross the road to reduce the nervousness of another in that situation, but how does that reduce the fear and concern of the actuality of crossing paths with that rapist or killer? It does not.

In which case, as unimaginative as it might seem, what answer can there be other than more police and longer sentences?

Have you got stats to support your claim that white males are discriminated against in the job market
I can tell you that 2 people were recently employed without interview at my workplace... Neither were the Best candidates either for things like poor attendance, inability to get on well with other staff members

A host of applicants who already worked through the agency(along with them) had to apply for positions... Good people missed out too..

It does happen, although I'm not sure how often

Some companies definitely have targets etc for diversity

The bit in the middle was a bit tongue in cheek, but the general idea of the post is spot on IMO, how the woke left will happily try to ruin someones life if they have a different opinion.
