I actually thought Allen was neat when given the chance - main problem we have is he ain't the biggest, so he'll only work if we play the ball around on the deck, and we seem to have lost the confidence to do that so he and others are chasing shadows. Rose, perversely, looks an attacking option when he comes forward, but is a shambles in defence today. James really is wasting a wage atm, and it's since he came in any semblance of a structure has gone completely.
The attacking midfielders will get a lot of pelters today but you need to get them close to Godden so they can play a bit of pass and move football and they need to be receiving short passes in QPRs half to do so. Consequently the base of the box needs to be close to them to do that but there's a huge gap, Allen and Shipley get pulled too deep or out wide and we're chasing shadows. There's no midfield unit at all.

How can any manager worth a damn watch our last few games where we barely threatened the goal at all and think that the best way to approach this one was to play the box with 1 up top, Shipley and Allen on the pitch and O’Hare and Walker on the bench.

He’s properly fucking lost it

Just don't get it.

Getting to be a joke.

What's he trying to do, protect the goal difference and trying to get the same points as blues????

He’s always had the potential to morph into Micky Adams and now he’s achieved it

Yeah, nothing wrong with one up front, you need the AMs to be able to run beyond however, and they're not going to do that if they're having to look for the ball.

Question to those who witnessed our Premier League escapes, did we look as hopeless and as deflated as we do now? Hard to see us grinding out any wins here we look so lost.

Yes & far worse quite regularly. We were usually rooted in the bottom 3 all season & then when it literally became must win we turned into Barcelona. Of course we had 2 or 3 players of real quality such as Dublin who almost single handedly kept us up on occasion.

Back then it was kind of accepted because we knew how far we were off most of the league quality wise. Whilst that is arguably the case even moreso now it's harder for people to grasp as we're not playing against Man Utd, Arsenal etc. With social media & everyone having a voice it turns toxic very quickly nowadays.
