In my season review TM8792 wins the absolutely no clue award for shittest poster of 2021. Along with all his other stupid aliases across the social channels. Bitter and clueless. I am going to give him a 1/10 for at least consistency in how crap his posts are

The only fair ratings you’ll see on here given we struggled for most of the season.

—————

Wilson - 4.5. Meh. Need a new starting GK.

Marosi - 4. See Wilson. Think Marosi is slightly worse.

—————

DaCosta - 4. Very hot and cold. Looks good one game then shite the next. Not convinced.

Dabo - 4. Been disappointed more often than not when he’s played this season.

Pask - 5. Looked OK when played.

Rose - 3. Shite. Need to replace.

Ostigard - 6. Our best CB. Would like him back next season.

Mcfadzean - 4. Slightly less shite than Rose.

Hyam - 4. See above. Unlike most Cov fans I cannot forgive large patches of utterly dogshit performances because of a few good results at the end of the season.

McCallum - 3. Awful. Nothing going forward and a liability defensively. Please don’t get him back AGAIN next year Robins.

Giles - 2. Basically an even worse McCallum.

—————

Kelly - 5. One of our more consistent players.

James - 6. Solid player and experienced head. Would like him back next season.

Hamer - 6.5. Carried us almost single-handedly throughout the first half of the season before a dip in form. Easily our most talented player.

Sheaf - 4. Flashes of something every now and then, but I’m not convinced. Wouldn’t take him back.

Eccles - 5. I think he will play a much bigger part next season. Looks promising from the few games he’s played.

Shipley - 2. Again, I can’t let a couple of goals recently in what were nothing games forgive the fact he has looked massively out of his depth whenever he’s played.

Allen - 4. Rated him last year but been disappointed this season.

O’hare - 3. He is an attacking mid who panics in front of goal. Probably the worst finisher I’ve ever seen in a City shirt. We would have been safe a lot earlier had he not wasted so many chances. I keep repeating this, but unlike other City fans I cannot forgive how bad he is in front of goal or around the box simply because he runs 72 miles a game and chases players down. Would take the first offer for him.

—————

Walker - 5. The best of our strikers which is saying something.

Godden - 4. Good finisher when asked, but way too slow for this league. Passenger in too many games. Get rid.

Bakayoko - 3. Nowhere near good enough if we’re serious about pushing on.

Biamou - 4.5. Prefer him to Godden and had some excellent games, but I don’t think he’s good enough.

Gyokores - 5. Wrote him off initially but he was winning me over as the season went on. Probably wouldn’t take him back mind.
So you think that Bakayoko has had the same amount of impact as O'Hare this season?
Surey you're on a wind up?

“detriment of the team” - no son, one of the best players in the team this season. Taking kick after kick, laying on key assists and making key interceptions high up the pitch. You have no clue. Can only assume you have never played the game to any kind of level yourself, as your lack of knowledge is exposing you

He thinks we should sign Ashley Cain - it’s a spoof account

Wilson 6 - Made some errors, but made some brilliant saves too
Marosi 5 - His injury had a big impact on his season. Wasn't the same when he came back
Dabo 5 - Injured quite a bit, and wasn't the Dabo of last season.
Hyam 6 - Fairly decent. Looks like he's treading water sometimes though. Chipped in with a couple of goals.
McFadzean 8 - An absolute rock. A few pens conceded and a couple of reds, but when he's playing he leads the defence.
Ostigard 8.5 - Lucky to have him this season, has a great future in the game.
Rose 5 - Hasn't kicked on from last season.
Mccallum 7 - Improved massively in the run in.
Dacosta 5 - Sometimes decent, sometimes truly awful.
Pask - 6 Did ok when called upon.
Kelly - 6 Shame he's injured so much, we look much better when he's in the team.
James - 7 Improved with each game, after an ordinary start.
Hamer - 6 Started great, but form fell off a cliff. There's a really decent player there though.
Sheaf - 6 Did ok when called upon.
Shipley - 5 So frustrating to watch a lot of the time. Glad he got a couple of goals at the end of the season.
Allen - 5 Too lightweight it seems for this division.
Eccles - 6 Looks a good prospect.
O'Hare - 8 Love watching him play, probably my favourite player.
Walker - 7 Best finisher we have. Could do with scoring a few more next season.
Godden - 6 Injury didn't help him. Scored a few though.
Gyokeres - 6 Did ok.
Biamou - 6 Frustrating, but tried hard.

Probably missed someone.

Forgot dacosta - 6 too often injured but showed real promise going forward

Midfield

Kelly - 7.5 when he plays we compete. He’s a limited footballer but so important to our team
Sheaf - 6.5 excellent first season at this level. I still think he’s a steal at £750k
Hamer - 7 great first half he was the whole team often. Tailed off and then came back last 2-3 games
James - 7.5 took a bit of time but been brilliant last month and a half
Shipley - 5 poor season but he can shoot and he’ll be better for this experience
Ohare - 8.5 goals and he leaves and I think he’ll add them next year. Signing of the season
Allen - 5.5. Not given a chance really little lightweight and no pace at this level

Strikers

Biamou - 6 playing while injured kept us in the hunt. Improved every year he deserves a long contact in league 1
Walker - 6.5 think Covid hit him. Best striker until gyokeres came good in the last 3-4 games
Godden - 6 disappointing season through injury. Knows where the net is
Baka - 4 nothing to say
Gyokeres - 6 just for how he’s come on and made an impact in the last month

Robins - 9 what a guy

Excellent. Pretty much how I see it give or take .5 Mark here and there!

3...are you for real ??
COH is arguably our best player (PotS), definitely the hardest worker, and certainly the most valuable player at the club.
I like Pask and Eccles, but you've given them 5 based on a handful of games, against COH who has played virtually every game ?

Wait a minute, you're a total WUM aren't you....oh, and denying it would only make you look even worse

Wilson - 6 - not good enough long term but think he’s done ok, deserves some credit. He’s decisive, knows when to just get rid, and I think the defence were better with him.

Dabo - 4 - disappointing, never fully fit, expect him to really get going next season and get back to his best

Rose - 4 - Same as Dabo

Ostigard - 8 - great talent, great heart, would love him back

Fadz - 7 - If it wasn’t for silly mistakes it would genuinely be a 9/10 - he’s an awesome defender but just had some horrible moments. Also won us games through heroic defending.

Hyam - 6.5 - really grew into it, last 1/4 of the season I thought he did great. Harder for him not being left footed

McCallum 7.5 - Brilliant season from a great young player - will go a long way, love his attitude

Kelly - 7 - injury prone but brilliant when in the side, so important to us

James - 8 - no surprise he hit form once he found his feet, great player at this level. Hope he get him on a permanent.

Sheaf - 3 - thought he started but just tailed off - will be a good player I’m sure

Hamer - 7 - dropped off but can’t forget his form until the end of Jan - the reason we’re staying in the division is because of him. Need to keep him, 20,000 Cov fans cheering him will get another level from him

Shipley - 4 - love his attitude coming back at the end of the season, need more of that as he struggled and lost his confidence. Shipley needs to be one of those scoring 10+ goals to stay in the team, his game otherwise can be lacking, but he can finish!

Allen - 3 - nowhere near for me, likeable player and a good performer last season but he’s struggle every time he’s played IMO

O’Hare - 8.5 - player of the season for me. We’re very lucky to have him. Yes if he was more clinical it would be great, but if he was then he’d be playing in the PL. Plus he’s young, and can improve that aspect of his game.

Baka - 2 - didn’t really get a chance, good luck to him on his next club

Godden - 5 - injured for too much but did well when he played, some important goals

Walker - 5 - did ok, hoping for improvement next season, though the team need to create more for him

Biamou - 5 - more than held his own at this level, had a few games where the opposition defence couldn’t live with his physicality. In a 2 up top I think he works and in our current squad is essential.

Gyo - 5 - like the other strikers did ok, not overly great but showed some great moments

These seem reasonable , I'd only change 1 or 2

Won’t do the whole squad, just a few who came to mind.

Hyam - Fadz has his critics but Hyam imo is our most underrated defender.

da Costa - seems to have the biggest on/off switch. Want to see more of him.

Hamer - Good start. Faded big time.

O’Hare - a lot of eyes on him... a decent finish away from being top class. Possible player of the season.

James - maybe disappeared in a couple of games but overall he’s one of those players you can see is streets ahead of the rest of the team. Mr Rolls-Royce.

Ostigard - Loved Osti.

Walker - doesn’t smile enough, but makes up for it by scoring with penis. Golden Balls. (bet it took his breath for a minute)

Biamou & Shipley - 10/10.

My nerve in February/March - 1/10

O’hare 8.5- player of the season, played in every game. Work rates are incredible, needs to add goals but if he does then he won’t be here much longer, managers dream.

If Callum O'Hare adds goals to his game then he's a £10 million player, at least.

I’m just basing it on the performances I’ve seen from them. IMO O’Hare has been a detriment to the team more often than not (whereas Eccles hasn’t) hence the lower rating.
Out of interest how many games have you seen this season?

Autumn criminally underrated by so many on here

Too inconsistent. When it's nice with a bit of sun is great. When it's cold and wet it's horrible. Spring better cos you can see stuff growing and hope for the future. In autumn it's all dying and getting colder and darker. Plus you get fallen fucking leaves rotting everywhere making pavements horrible,

Agreed its a luxury season which is bound to have an off day every once in a while...

But you have to look at the bigger picture - Indian summers, picturesque landscapes, start of the football season, cosy nights in, 2 or 3 solid celebratory events etc.

Yes you'll get the odd muddy day, and all the spiders start coming indoors to seek out a mate, but overall it adds so much to the calendar year.

Essentially, the good - Ohare, McFaz, Osti, Mccallum, Hyam, James, Kelly, Hamer, the goodish - Walker, Biamou, the bad - Baka, Allen, Shippers, Jobello, the jury out- Marosi, Wilson Gyo, and the injured Dabo, Rose, Godden, Jones and Kasta in a category of his own. Strong finish by Gyo and Shippers against teams with their towels on the beach. All players have made stupid mistakes and have had lapses in form which is understandable with the number of games in such a short time.
Every player needs to improve, even OHare who needs to score more. Worries next season are the ongoing injuries and the loans being some of our best performers.

Kelly player of the season for me.

Closely followed by O'Hare and Ostigard.

Followed by Hamer/James/Fadz

Promising that we had so many injuries, quite a lot of inconsistency and in reality we've had a comfortable season with a lot we can still improve on all round.

GK

Marosi 6

Start of the season when we continued try to play out from the back we got picked off too often. Got injured and didn't look quite the same when he came back.

Wilson 6.5
Much better than expected and was willing to clear the ball if necessary. Made some very good saves but far too prone to making an error.

DF

Dabo 6.5

Never been fully fit and has been brought back too early a few times. Hopefully fully fit next year

Dacosta 5.5
At times looked like a schoolboy with his positioning. Can cause problems going forward but leaves big gaps behind him. Improved a bit towards the end but lots to work on in pre-season.

Drysdale 5

Only played a couple of games and got sent-off in one, but hopefully his loan has done him the world of good and he'll progress for next season

Giles 6
Another decent going forwards but lacking a bit defensively. Think he's more suited to being a winger.

Hyam 6.5
Played a lot of games and was fatigued by March. Looked better last few games after a small rest but pace is an issue.

McCallum 7
Solid enough on the left apart from maybe a small dip when Giles left and he didn't have competition. Useful long throw

McFadzean 6.5
Would be a 7 but for penalties given away and a couple of red cards. Really helps marshal the defence but again his lack of pace is a worry

Ostigard 7
Love for him to come back. Looked composed at the back and great in the air (unless it's an attempt at goal when he's got a bit of a 50p head)

Pask 6
Not featured as much and was unlucky with injuries. Filled in at RWB a lot. Got a bit more pace than some of the others

Rose 6
Another who struggled to get going due to injury and was caught out far too often. Looked better at the back end of the season so hopefully fully fit next year.

Thompson 5
Didn't feature much and looked like he was struggling when he did.

This is pretty close to my thoughts, can't argue with most of the scores.

People forget these are League one or even league two players that are making the step up to the Championship. This season, we need to compare them to the teams in the bottom 3 not the top 6.

I'd probably bump Hamer up to a 7, sure his form fell off a cliff but he was exceptional at the start of the season. So much so people were expecting us to lose him to a Prem club in January!

Hamer - 7
Kelly - 7
McFadzean - 7
James - 7.5
O'Hare - 8.5

MF

Allen 5.5

Had a short spell playing a bit deeper that he looked better in but had little impact on games.

Burroughs 6
Only featured a few times and was filling in. Bit nervous but calmed down after a while. Got a waty to go to be a first teamer but definite potential

Eccles 7

Only featured towards the end but looks good. Also versatile and played three positions in the final game. Expect to be fighting for a first team place next year.

Hamer 7
Great first half of the season then dropped off and has been a sub recently. Another who maybe needed a rest

James 7
Wasn't sure about him at first and when Kelly came back at the start they looked too similar. As he's settled in has looked assured and becoming more of an integral part of the team and more help to the younger players. If his wages aren't too high would be happy for him to come back

Jobello 5.5
Only made a few sub appearances after injury last year. Has been fit and playing U23 but never seemed likely to force his way back in, possibly due to his natural position being one we don't use in our system

Kastaneer 5
Just seems to go down to whatever level he's playing at rather than looking to up his game, highlighted by his loan to the Scottish Championship where he didn't impress either.

Kelly 7
More for his effect on everyone else than individual performances. A good leader. Picks up at least one injury a season

O'Hare 7.5
Would be an 8 or more if he could shoot. Energetic, skilful and gets fouled a lot.

Sheaf 6
One of those players who has a languid style that can rub supporters up the wrong way. maybe turned up with a bit of complacency having been at Arsenal and gave the ball away a bit too often but another who could be an asset with a bit of work.

Shipley 5.5
Would be 5 but for the couple of goals. Can shoot but far too unwilling to get stuck in and will let games drift by without affecting them. Unlikely to last more than an hour.

FW

Bakayoko 5
Just can't seem to short his head out and make the most of what he has. Willing to run around and press but doesn't seem to affect games at all. All the gear and no idea.

Bapaga 5.5
Too early for him yet. Could be great in the future but needs more development time first.

Biamou 6
Want to give him an extra half mark but misses too many chances. Far more involved than expected due to injuries and made a decent fist of playing on his own up front, and had a couple of games where he linnked up well with a partner. Will give his all

Godden 6.5
Suffered with injuries and was another brought back too soon. Might have to consider if an offer came in for him if the injury problems are likely to persist

Gyokeres 6.5
Didn't impress initially but looked more capable later on. Something there to work with and could be a replacement for Biamou depending on cost.

Walker 6.5
Looks a decent goalscorer but also can be completely absent in games he's not getting chances in. Couldn't play him on his own up front
