Sheff Utd get £125m for being shite, which presumably has gone on wages, running costs etc, plus they also get parachute payments of £45m in the first year and pro-rata for 3 years. How do we compete with this next season?

Wonder how that minimum £125m compares to the average Championship auto promotion team's spend.

Definitely worth blowing £50m odd on.

The answer to the question is that we don‘t. All we can hope for is a season where everything goes right, we make 6th spot and make it through the play offs.

The merit share just bakes in the same old top 4 doesn't it? The top 4 get £150m, which is more than the entire bottom half combined

Plus their vastly greater income from shirts globally; pre-season games in Kuwait; higher crowds etc. Which possibly make the merit share look like ice cream money.

If we got up to the premier league, did one season up there, didn’t spend much on new players, went straight back down with that money, we could be set for years with the way we are run financially stable nowadays
What???
Do you honestly think sisu wouldn't take that money to offset their costs incurred in keeping the club afloat.

We just need joy to care and put some of her own money in them we’ll be fine

Embarrasing. She’s spent £30 million of other people’s money. If they thought it was worth putting more money in they would and they’d be more likely if there was a chance to grab a stadium than anything that happens on a football pitch

They probably would, but then we technically shouldn’t owe them anything, so we would be in a better position than when we were last in the premier league

I would say she's no worse than all the owners of the top clubs that wanted to join the Super League. She's no worse than the owners of Charlton, Sheff Wed, Derby etc, etc. That's football today.

Two banks of four.
Big 'un & Quick 'un up top.
Keep it tight & get amongst them early doors.
Double up in threatening areas.
Remember who your man is at set pieces.

Seriously though... There's zero point stressing (or constantly threading to the point of ad nauseam) about stuff we can't control... What you can control is having a few drinks before, going to the stadium after 18 months away and enjoying the day... Just remember, they can't brick up their goal with the cash!

Well they had wages of £77 million the season before last and made a £17 m profit vesus a £22 million loss in the final season in the Championship. Match revenue is only £6 million. Like a lot of clubs in their position they have to get back in the first two years or the ticking time bomb goes bang
