I’m surprised- having read all my the talk on here today by Brighton and Evo about how these teams play such devastating attacking football compared to us, I thought France and Germany would be 5 or 6 nil up by now 🤪

Hungary are really under the cosh though and I’m not convinced they’ll hold on considering there’s 70 minutes left.

If they do and France win, then it’s a perfect storm.

Even our under qualified, negative (yet twice semi finalist) should be able to put out a team to beat them.

I'd fancy our chances In the round of 16 against Hungary, its a scenario not many of us expect to happen though

How is this happening?! Hungary is winning is an unexpected surprise that we wanted pre game, yet it’s now a negative as we’re currently facing France as they’re losing!

So we could be playing France or Portugal or Hungary, glad that's cleared up, is there any scenario in which we face the Germans.

It will, and while it’s likely results will change over the next 55 minutes, as it stands it’s France for us, which is the worst case scenario.

I dunno- based on this performance Portugal are a much better team

Portugal showing that you don’t have to be going nuts attacking all the time to beat the top teams too

International management is not the pinnacle of a managerial career anymore. Even the 'qualified' managers in the field are there after poor spells with clubs e.g. Mancini and Luis Enrique.

By every metric, Southgate has outperformed more 'qualified' candidates to manage England. Which goes to show success in club management doesn't necessarily translate to the international management.

The same France that has also scored the same amount of goals as England and a draw against a minnow...

Shouldn't Deschamps get the sack?

I think I’m right in saying we just need a Germany equaliser- that puts them into second place
