The right team won to be honest

But I’ll never understand why we didn’t keep the pressure up after our goal and let them in quite so much.

Not calling for Southgate to be gone in the slightest but we brought that on ourselves

Why oh why would you let Saka take that

Also the two pens by Rashford & Sancho- they were pathetic.

If we'd have had a go I honestly think we'd have won.

I really wasn't happy with how the game was panning out by the 60th minute, changes should have been made. Mount wasn't effective enough.

Why are people letting off fireworks now btw?

A young team and now more experienced team. Take that into the World Cup and go one better. Italy’s experience was the difference tonight. We should be proud of what this young inexperienced team has achieved in this competition.

Let's be honest though , Italy were the better side , we tried to defend a 1 goal lead onto the second half as if there was 10 minutes left and we didn't react to the subs made by mancini quick enough .. once Italy got ontop we struggled to impose ourselves onto the game at all , were sloppy and quite negative .

I don't know if we will ever have a better chance than that , and can't help but feel the game management was very poor going into the second half and beyond right to the penalties.

After 25 years at least Southgate won't hear about his penalty miss ever again. In this day and age of keyboard warriors those 3 are going to go through hell. I really feel terrible for them.

Sterling was up there as my player of the tournament but he should have taken responsibility and never let Saka take that penalty

Really don’t see it. Their goal was so poor. Could easily have held on to the 1-0. Italy certainly had more possession they didn’t cut through us at all

Can't help but feel we've missed our chance here
Agreed. They had one quality attacking player. We kept our flair players on the sidelines for a lot of the tournament, and again tonight. Tonight it cost us. The pundits are desperate not to criticise Southgate, but he got it wrong tonight. Anyway, come on City.

Frankly, the comments on here just depress me. We outclassed that team for the first 25 mins, Mancini got his tactics right, and we looked tired. We gave it our all, and we did our best. Southgate has proved to be the best manager we have had since Robson, and here we are kicking off. Twats. See ya.

Why the hell would you put Saka in that situation, someone more experienced should have stepped up

Totally agree, Grealish or Sterling should have taken it.
