Not quite, that summer was a total disaster. That summer we had a team of loans and players all leave us.....Cole, Armstrong, maddison, Murphy, fleck, Vincelot etc and we're left with real bare bones, and panic loaned some lousy players last minute to replace. This team is still basically still the league 1 winning team with added walker, hamer and of course the ones that have come on this season so far. I'm sure our transfer system is far better than it was then and will come good
Now to 2016 when there was no recruitment strategy in fact it was blind panic.
Now thinks it's the opposite ,alright it's a slower pace but like to think they are working extra hard on the players coming in to avoid the kastaneers and players of there Ike.

Difference to 2016 appears to be we have a list A,B,C and so on.

2016 had us targeting Kelvin Wilson for the whole summer, then we reached the start of the season and panic bought Turnbull.

I do realise that, the comparison I’m making is about having a side dangerously undercooked-and not particularly anyone’s fault either.

I'm sorry mate but I fail to see other than lwb where we are "dangerously under cooked"

if we didn't make anymore signings I'd be very confident in staying up next season but of course we are going to sign more players, there is still a month and a half of the transfer window left

We had 3/4 of the previous starting 11 go. As we stand were likely to line up with a settled 11 minus a left back.

Moore, left back, Rose, Hyam, mcfadz, Dabo, Kelly, Hamer, O’Hare, Waghorn, Walker is ready to go. With Godden, Sheaf and Gyorkeres in contention, Jodi Jones around the squad. We possibly need a couple more - Centre back and central midfielder for competition for places but we’re far better off than we were at this stage in 2016.

Think we’d replaced the majority with Jones and Sordell only by the time 12/7/2016 rolled around

I'm not sure lads but wasnt the season-end consensus that we needed a minimum of 6 additions to improve the squad?
The only `new' 1st team signings since are Waghorn and Moore so I can see the argument that we're short.

We have plenty of time we don’t need to be rushing making mistakes I think Bright is done and Gyo has signed

I suppose my point is we have 11 players (though currently no left back), but not a squad. I’m not completely stupid, I do recognise recruitment is not finished.

I’m fine with Moore, Gyo and Waghorn but Bright makes little sense to me.
I don't get this mentality, the sense is that he is a very gifted player that can unlock a defence, the type of player we need, non of us actually know what hes like, if Robins thought he would combust the club from the inside out like some people on here seem to think, then he wouldn't sign him.

Why don’t think you think it’s a good move out of interest?
Needs a permanent move for me this season. He really improved the second half of each season. I don’t know if he’ll improve enough for premiership Footie. That’s all. Permanent move required at this stage.

That’s all. Pretty sure qpr are likely to finish above us and pretty sure it’s a safe championship club so a step up.

Would hope we have other irons in the fire

Left back is the elephant in the room. We could do with some depth in other areas but we need a first team left back. Hope we’ve got something lined up.
