It's a f**king football ground not a racetrack.Yeah they should have opened it block by block. Think Blues on the TuesdY will be the next big (ish) crowd

Ludicrous.I'd give it a few games, if not working out then close it and get everyone together. Wont be popular with those in there but those numbers are telling.

You're forgetting the lads with the scarves , photo opportunities and all that.Yeah, both of them are going to be furious

Look at what sold by Friday evening then judge .. we had 17k home fans v forest and the tesco stand had basically sold out
Still waiting for season tickets to arrive.
The end was almost empty up until the day before.
I don't like the way that the end is kind of being 'rejected'- only thing that will fix that is more victories, a cause, momentum which will bring more people.
It's not really being "rejected". The ticket price is the same all over, so people will opt for a better view along the side.
But it is though, a lot of people prefer behind the goal, you'd expect it to be more evenly spread if that was the case.
Isn't this stand cash turnstiles stand ? Why would you close it.Opening behind the goal up looks like a bit of a mistake tbh
I dont understand? If people prefer behind the goal then they'd buy tickets there. But the numbers show that people prefer the side of the pitch whilst the ticket prices are a flat rate.
In covid times it is a good idea to have an area with fewer people and might encourage elderly and vulnerable people to attend if they can feel safer in such an area,Isn't this stand cash turnstiles stand ? Why would you close it.
I seriously wish we'd do this. Net off about 8k seats from the top all the way round. Not like Wasps will need the seats either, in fact you could net off 20k+ for those fuckers.Should open it from the front
On a match day? Get rid.Away with the recently appointed wife on a honeymoon weekend. Gutted.
we haven’t suddenly become the only club in the country to not want to sit behind the goal- there were 4k+ in the west stand every match at HR and the West End was the most popular part of the ground- 4k is two thirds of the end at the CBS. For wherever reason that end isn’t popular at all, and I don’t believe it’s because of the view otherwise there would be nobody in the corner by the away fans
The point I’m trying (and clearly failing ) to make is that next to nobody is interested in sitting behind the goal, which is a huge departure for not only us but every other club.
its not about views- loads of people prefer behind the goal, I’m one of them, but for whatever reason nobody wants to sit behind the goal at the CBS.
On Reading’s website you can only buy in block 7 and this is what they’ve got available atm…

Sparse behind the goal.....

Bit more populated across the side.
I reckon about 17K
The mystery regarding behind the goal isn't really a mystery at all. It's largely down to a lack of season ticket holders there. It wasn't open during phase 1 of sales, so 80% of people had already purchased before it was opened, and then couldn't be arsed to move, especially when they can see how sparse it is.
The view is excellent there. I'm in block 16 but went behind the goal for Wolves and it is a far better view. It'll grow in popularity as the season goes on. Talk of closing it is batshit.
If we are paying per stand as previously believed and it's costing more to open turnstiles, clean toilets and staff the catering, it seems a bit crazy to open a stand that's not even a quarter full.
I'm glad people stayed where the were. The atmosphere was brilliant because of it. Far better than the previous day's in the championship where we opened it up fully and the atmosphere was dreadful.
Significantly less sold for Saturday than the Forest game.

Makes no sense. Where would you have put them against Forest? It would've needed to open anyway. It also helps the atmosphere to have fans around the entire bowl. In the League One days when it was closed, even when the turnout was good, the atmosphere in blocks 22-24 was dreadful because there was an empty expanse to the right. No other clubs do this, and let's be honest most grounds in the Championship are half empty most weeks.
that’s nonsense tbh
