I like to stick up for Arteta, but it’s increasingly obvious he’s out of his depth.

They need some solidity and Arteta needs to address this or he’ll lose his job. He’s been backed by the board and there’s no excuse for underperforming.

tbf, Man City vs 10 men are always going to batter most teams.

Totally lacking any direction, either there is no message from the manager or the players aren't getting it. Ultimately that's on Artetas shoulders. You can't hold him responsible for the daft tackle from Xhaka but then when does.something daft ( by todays standards) you don't pat his back as je walks off the pitch.

Man City might as well not bother with having a keeper for the rest of the game. He's a bit redundant.

To be fair Man City and Chelsea in their first 3 games. New signings to gel. They'll still finish top half and maybe higher. Need to though - they and Spurs are in a lot of debt!

Watching Liverpool Chelsea now. Anyone seen this “Anfield roar” ?!? Like a bleeding library. There was 10x the atmosphere at Loftus Road earlier.

Yes he is
But he's been given a hospital pass

He is, I agree.

But to be fair, it's hardly a hospital pass he decided to take this on as his first job. He's in his second full season. And he has been substantially backed in the market. Now I think as always you have to give it until 10 games to see where they are but he hasn't made many if any improvements to their team and their doesn't seem to be any identity to their play.

For me it's obvious what they lack and that's leadership. Too many players who are soft and can't roll up their sleeves and fight.[/QUOTE]

I found that too. It’s a myth.

It's not rocking 100% of the time for 100% of games but when it is, I don't believe anywhere else in England matches it. It's definitely not a myth...probably just not consistently good like Rangers and Celtic maybe.

I was at the game v Barcelona the other year and I've never heard/seen anything like it tbh.

In his defence he hasn't had most of the players he brought in as the club has been riddled with covid
But Arsenal have been in decline for a long time
A section of fans hounded Wenger out but plenty warned that they should be careful what they wish for
Think there have been a few teams affected by the Covid this WE.

It does show be careful what you wish for when you grumble about a manager. Wenger kept them afloat in much the same way Curbishley kept Charlton afloat (albeit at a lower level).

Ha, I typed the above out earlier but never sent it. Sometimes, fans don't appreciate that, for whatever reason, it's unreasonable to expect better given the constraints.

Exactly this. Champions League nights at anfield are unreal, and at most derbies. But some days it does turn out to be flat.
