Doesn't matter what corner we put in, no fucker gets on the end of them.

Fulham are a really good side, so anything said today has to be taken with that caveat but... what we're seeing is a 3-5-2 with 2 sitting midfielders vs the more box to box style like Allen or Hamer.

In today's scenario, the sitting midfielders allow the wingbacks to both get much higher at the same time and the right and left centre back push a bit wider to cover the higher wingbacks, knowing that Sheaf and Kelly will drop into central defence to support there. It needs wide centre backs that are very comfortable in possession though which is why we've looked better at building play down the left than the right as JCS and Maatsen link better than Hyam and Dabo.

It also means we've had nothing through the middle when attacking as the 2 DMs are so deep it forces everything down the wings (or some ropey long balls into the strikers). Set up like this suits Kelly's personal attributes but we have too many other players that it doesn't suit today, to be as effective as the previous style inside the 3-5-2. Hyam not comfortable enough in possession, Godden feeding off scraps, Gyokeres having to come too deep to look for the ball and playing more like a genuine target man than recently. We're going to be very very reliant on Dabo and Maatsen today or we tweak it and use Allen instead of one of Kelly and Sheaf. That said we've still managed to create a few half chances but don't think we'll be seeing the recent fluent football without a further tweak or two.

Something is there for us if we take a little care next half.

Godden isn't much use unless he's in on goal and we're not going to provide that for him. Get Allen or Walker on.
Honestly godden runs like he's constantly injured. He also looks like he's running through treacle.

Him and Kelly really showing why we’ve progressed beyond them. Kelly’s passing and Goddens pace just not at the right level.

Sheaf having a poor game on the ball, Dabo not quite right. Few changes we could make here, not sure what’s the right one. We can definitely get at this lot and score.

That’s a real footballing insight. A goal generally always changes things

Not in the same league as your perceptive analysis of the 5-0 Luton defeat:

"The defence was the problem today"

I didn’t think that was a bad first half against a team that are favourites to win the league and are odds on to get promoted!

Sloppy in places and shite defending for their goal but we’ve had a couple of little half chances and certainly haven’t looked out of our depth.
Fulham are costing and have several gears to go through. We need something to wake up the fans and create some intensity

Good performance. Think it was a foul on McFadzean but he made it too easy. Kelly and Gyokeres our best players at the mo. Not sure Kelly will be able to last a full game though. Godden will be replaced by Walker after 60 I would think.
