Went that night with about 200
I was there too. From coverage there didn't seem to be many there but it was a horrible wet night and we were sheltering under cover. I went there the following season and in that time, about 10 months, they had knocked down the old stand(s) to our left and built the Jack Walker stand. Was bloody freezing and we lost 2-1, I think Paul Cook scored our goal

Funny this. People have this distorted view that our away following has always been massive. Really only the last few years its been big.
Interesting point. It's probably related to the Sixfield/St. Andrews's years.

Doesn't matter, lots of people getting the awayday buzz. Long may it continue.

Can remember feeling dejected leaving Ewood Park, the only time I’ve been there, when Chris Samba equalised at the death. It felt like we lost. Oh well, we beat them in the replay.

Not really. Before that as well it was average at best (numbers wise)

But yeah, agree - all about now and long may it continue

I froze to my seat that night. Coldest I've ever been.

We definitely had some rubbish away followings in the past. I went to pretty much every game home and away from 92 to 95ish and we hardly ever sold out away allocations. It was relatively easy to get tickets then (from my memory anyway).

Colder than Wycombe midweek away couple years ago? 🥶🥶🥶
The game in November 1993 was foggy & freezing, at half time everyone seemed to be dancing to whatever music was played to try and warm up. Definitely coldest I've been at a ground beating Bolton away on boxing day & Sunderland away.

Sorry but Bolton on Boxing Day was officially named as the coldest place on earth since the ice age

I know it's not a general rule, but I recall standing on the South Bank at Molineux in the mid-sixties (or slightly after), and there were an awful lot of us.
I was there that day, we won 3-1 from 1-0 down and kickstarted our promotion. Scored 5 against Milwall at home the next game. Better than the year or two before when I went into the North Bank by mistake. Still won 1-0 Ray Pointer header. Celebrations somewhat muted.

No, it was the year after that I reckon, on bonfire night or very close to it. They were firing rockets at us, and vice versa.
We lost. 2-0 or 2-1 I think.

Thinking on, that couldn't have been Milwall. We beat them 3-1 at home on the last day of the season, two weeks after beating Wolves 3-1 at home.

It was a long time ago but I would say more than 200. It was exhilarating towards the end of the game as we just kept scoring.

We were all jumping at ht just to keep warm
Definitely the coldest I've ever been at a footy match
We joke about it in our our house how much colder it is in Bolton compared to where we live on the south side of Bury. I did hear that was a cold day you mentioned but any colder than 1987 cup win over Bolton in FA cup at Highfield road? The second half was totally pointless apart from chance to get even colder.

Went to Bolton when we won 1-0 with a last ditch penalty at Burnden Park was the coldest day I remember watching a football match getting to the car and the car heater was like heaven.

Was at that Wolves match at Molyneaux I’m sure we were 1-0 up and Wolves absolutely battered us Wagstaff equalised about 20 minutes from the end but John Key broke away to make it 2-1 massively against the run of play then he scored again. The game we were 1-0 down and came back to win was the return home game.

I went to a midweek game at Oldham years ago I think Roy Wegerle scored that was the coldest I have been at a game the wind chill was terrible.

We played Oldham twice in a season midweek maybe in 93/94, drew 1-1 in league and lost 2 or 3-0 in league cup and Wegerle was sent off. CCFC put on loads of coaches for cup game at a reduced price and the driver of the 1 I was on thought Oldham was near Liverpool until I told him he was going the wrong way!! It's always cold at Boundary Park, I think it is highest above sea level English ground.

Just looked it was August so can’t have been that cold, I was so stupid then I probably went to the cup game as well.
