The EU has nothing whatsoever to do with the UK government.

it’s odd though you say isn’t the time to discuss the EU but seem very keen on putting eu messaging out there

It’s only therefore also fair to point out the EU are continuing to supply Russia with £2 billion payments A WEEK for its energy - and yet says or does nothing about it

A bbc news item last night said this alone is enough to prop up the Russian economy and yet no one seems keen to discuss

How very odd

It was an article from the Guardian about the UK?
The invasion has been going on for what? A week? I’m sure the majority across the bloc will want to become less reliant on Russia but it’s not going to happen immediately.
Let’s not forget only last week you were claiming sanctions would have zero impact on Putin and to leave them to it.

Says or does nothing aside from pausing Nord Stream 2, publishing plans for how to reduce dependence, increasing the amount of energy from coal fired plants, and buying LNG?

You are a very silly man, what do you want? 500 million people to turn their heating off?

And in that week another £2 billion has been given to Russia by the collective countries of the EU to fund the Putin regime.

They have said they want to divest from Russian gas and oil

Go on, share your wisdom. What’s your plan to reduce gas consumption to 0 in a week?

Well you see the one talking about taking action and that’s the only action that wiukd bring Russia to its knees

Of course the eu will blather on and deflect about oligarchs as it’s Putins bitch and when he clicks his fingers Brussels pays. Shame they didn’t try and change energy strategy before isn’t it really? Ah well never mind. I’m sure the pipeline which Germany wanted to provide 70% of its energy will be back soon.

So nice if the largest arms manufacturers in Europe also supply the Ukrainian forces

win win for Brussels

But hey it’s all about the oligarchs

Wow this is awful even by your standards

You really need to make your mind up about whether sanctions work or not.

The EU is not a Russian asset. Boris on the other hand…

You need to make your mind up as to why you seem to think sanctions work but one that equates to 25% of the whole Russian export value wouldn’t

Wow - adults talking hey.

Come on post another twitter link you don’t understand the context of

Can you point out where I've said it wouldn't work?

No, didn't think so.

Can you answer shmmeee's question about the practicalities of switching off gas for 500 million people?

No, didn't think so.

We get it, you don't like the EU. But their sanctions are far stronger than the UK's. This is a fact.

The UK is currently spending £6.3M a day on Russian gas according to a report on sky news today. As well as not implementing the sanctions unlike other countries. I’m really struggling to see what point it is that you think you’re making at the moment.

They’re also implementing them.

I’ve said they don’t you said they do

So now it’s a fact that 25% is less than 5% - well that’s clearly the case (25% is the export value of energy to your friends in the EU)

And you have admitted that the self interest of societies in Western Europe take precedent above Ukrainian lives well at least that’s a reality check of sorts I suppose

Doesn’t playing contrary for the sake of it get boring after a while?

Doesn't appear to be an answer to the question, rather a deflection.

I wasn’t asked a question was I? It seems that no one wants any opinions on here or observations that go against the status quo - it’s fortunate though - as the idiots on this thread who want to play at Risk have zero voice in the planet of reality
