New signing Steve Jennings has came out and praised Andy Thorn and his management team.
Good to hear positive things coming out of the camp.
Thought I'd share it with anyone who hasn't seen it yet.

Well done team Thorn :D

Praise is just as allowed as vilification :)

It isn't so much praise though:

To be honest they are all brilliant without bigging them up too much. They've all been players and they give you a bit of banter in the morning but if you are not doing your stuff on the training pitch they are quick to let you know about it.

I think if you mix and match that then you have the ingredients for the ideal backroom staff and it's been really good.

When was the last time any City player ever gave out anything but praise to any City manager?

We've had players praise Strachan and Macca and Reid and Adams and Dowie and Coleman and Boothroyd.

Well done Team That-lot.

And besides, as far as I am aware, Steve Jennings is just one player and not a whole team.

If 15 City players come out and all praise our manager and maybe you will be on to something to be having a song and dance about, but at the moment you could quite easily equally be saying that 24 or more players haven't come out and praised Thorn this season.

Games Managed CCFC 59

wins 13
Draws 19
Loses 27

Win Ratio : 22%

The worst CCFC manager ratio in my lifetime I believe

oh, and before anyone says "his hands were tied", his win ratio in League One is "0%"

Our last 8 Leagues games
1-1
1-1
0-4
0-2
0-1
1-1
1-3
2-2

Praise be to Thorn the saviour of our club.
That statustic 4 points out of 24 says it all doesn't it, a shocking statistic if ever there was one. I am not a member of the Thorn out brigade simply because in our current financial state i don't know who would come in unless Shaw or Carsley got promoted, perhaps thats the plan but unless there is significant improvement results wise something must give. Tuesday night especially the first half was dire, these are now Thorn's players, mostly signed by him, selected by him and playing his way, can be no more excuses in fact Bury could bury him.

Amazing, a simple interview from a new signing turns into a discussion about how it still doesn't mean our manager isn't shit...

Yes it clearly wasn't posted with that intention in mind.

This thread has already proved that some folk on here just can not accept any positive about our manager.

Rather than look at this as a good thing, it has to be twisted into a "well 24 or more players havn't praised him blah blah"

How very sad.

You only posted it to get the desired response and you know it.

To be fair, you posted it saying "Go Team Thorn" or whatever so you blatantly posted it to cause a bit of a debate ;)

Worst financial situation the club has been in ever, but hey let's turn a blind eye to that fact.

I don't think anybody turns a blind eye to that fact though? Are people saying we are rolling in the money?

The time will come when people will stop using the lack of money as an excuse. He has still had an entire squad of professional players to work with and in my opinion someone with a little more tactical nous would have for more than a paltry 13 wins in 59 games.
In what world is this good enough? How are people defending this?

Nope, just a positive thread about our manager.
Are all the tiresome anti thorn threads there for only a reaction too ? Or is that title reserved only for the positive ones ?

Worst ever. Really? What was it like in 1918? I honestly don't know. Pretty awful in the mid 70's though and utterly desperate in the early 80's.

I'm pretty sure if you were just posting a positive thread with no intent of causing a debate you wouldnt have put the Team Thorn comment like a 13 year old girl would talking about Twilight or something.

Clearly missing the point.

Don't see how win ratio can be used to accurately measure how our managers have done over the years, as I'm sure we weren't losing half a mill any other time in our history. ;)

Ah seem a little flustered now, is it because i'v proved what a sour old c**t you really are ?
Just can't accept any positive praise for Thorn, but anti thread after anti thread on him is fine ?

Get a grip !

Nobody is that daft, surely!

The attitude that some convey on here, other forums and Twitter would suggest this attitude from some "supporters". As it stands Thorn is pretty much the only option we have and we as a fanbase need to support him and the team. The spell in which we performed the best on Tuesday coincided with the period in which the fans got behind the team and management the loudest, and after it died down post goal Sheffield United got back on top. As a fanbase the negativity is getting us nowhere, it doesn't help the player and it doesn't help the management.

New employee with praise for new boss - shocker !! its hardly news. The last 2 gamwes confirmed my fears about AT can't turn draws into victories, not asking for both but one would have been nice.

Being skint doesn't excuse the way we play, our way at present is dire and we now have more or less the current managers players, brought to the club by Thorn to play his way. At the moment his way is not good enough. Despite being in charge 18 months at with all the restrictions taken into account we still have no width, no pace and no-one who can run at defenders with the ball.

Nope, if that is your opinion it is fine. If you weren't doing it on purpose then why are you feeling the need for personal abuse?

You can post what you like, but just don't moan if people disagree. :) I have a perfectly find grip, I'm not finding the need to swear at people on the internet because they disagree with me!

For me personally, sing and encouragement to the players. I won't be booing or any of that caper. But there is no way I'm singing Andy Thorns name, or the Andy give us a wave cringefest. I would prefer it if he wasn't our manager but I'll leave that to forums and the pub. At the game it's full support.

Ah right so we have lost half a £ million a month before then ?

If only those who sat around me on Tuesday night took a similar attitude. I can't see what benefit it will have to the players being vented at by members of the crowd, pretty much all of whom would not come close to being able to perform on the pitch. Save it for after the game.
