Luton were a well drilled, physical side. Their yellow cards were carefully spread out round the team. They didn't look a particularly good footballing side tonight though. I suppose they'd worked out they didn't need to be.

Otherwise, the usual from us. Looking generally in the ascendancy but failing to score, then conceding. Oftentimes we'll get a last-minute equaliser, but not tonight.

I though Viktor had the best chance when Hamer put him through. Hamer was our best player. Waghorn does running-around stuff but I just can't see him making or scoring goals.

The best chance was at the very start. Waghorn needs to be screaming for Godden to leave the ball and even with our finishing it’s 1-0

I know about the game, it was a bad miss. There was also the bad dive.

He only pays because we randomly let that prick bright come back as his competition.

He doesn't score and he is slipping down the assists count. "Yeah but he gets fouled".
🤣🤣🤣 honestly you don't at all, you need to see the one time touches, the space created, the defenders drawn in to marking him which allows the team to play. It's not about dives or free kicks it's about the pace and general play but if you look at a superficial level you miss. He needs to score more but him being on the pitch creates plenty.

I watched on Ifollow so saw multiple replays. It certainly wasn't as bad of a miss as Oggy made out.

The Maatsen one was worse minutes later, as was Godden in the first few seconds.

Collectively, our finishing reeks of panicking.

We created without him on the pitch.

He looks faster because he's smaller. He isn't actually that quick.

I don't doubt he makes some great touches and turns. However I think he's highly over rated by our fans.

Again you are missing the point. I'm not saying he is quick with pace. He's quick with feet he will take a quick pass which speeds up play. Nothing to do with his pace.

I wasn't there tonight so I can't really judge. Obviously I'm disappointed with the loss, when you look at the stats (which isn't a great indicator) the game looked pretty close.

I think tonight shows how fine the margins are in the Championship. If we had more quality in depth, the result may have been different.

Thats just where we are at the moment. I think that finally rules us out of the playoffs but I'm not ready to draw a line under the season just yet.

Yes he can take them but we were also doing that up until they scored.

The bottom line is we are not good enough for top 6 and never were. No need to over anayze things or beat ourselves up. Just hope we have a decent end to the season and build some momentum for next term.

I'm going to try to enjoy rest of the season. Some decent fixtures coming up where victory would be very sweet, starting with those gobshites on Saturday.

To state the obvious - Quality at the top end has been the difference in most games of late. Feel sorry for Gyökeres at times (aside from when he was throwing himself, corkscrewing through the air) - we need to bring in two decent attacking midfielders in the summer with pace and who contribute with goals. Of all our assets O'Hare would be the one to cash in on for me. Works hard but that part of the team is letting us down so badly at the min.

We weren't Nick and you know it. Every time he is one the pitch he gets the passing going up the pitch. Also bear in mind he's coming back from injury so won't be up to speed. I have similar issues with Sheaf, I just can't see what others can but know he has talent cause others see it and talk about it.

Frustration is when you look at the performances against the top 8.

Besides the Luton game away and the tough match at Bournemouth, I'd say we've outplayed them all.

Look back at the Huddersfield and Middlesbrough away games. Better side by miles but picked up just one point.

Erm we were firing it round in the first half when we were playing well.

There was no magical improvement when he came on, I wouldn't have expected it with so little time to go anyway.

I can't be bothered to explain any more. we looked hobbled in the top half of the pitch like we did last game. He won't be on top form if he's coming back from injury like everyone else who gets the benefit of the doubt. We fired it around in the first half but found no space. The whole team know how important he is as does the manager.

Are you related to him? Genuine question.

We’ve looked hobbled in the final third all season TBF. Can’t put my finger on it whether it’s strikers poor movement, lack of support from further back, poor AM play, but while we create a lot of chances they’re pretty poor chances.

How many other half chances where there Nick. It was a half chance not a given. The have blinkers on.
Sorry that's as good a chance as you get in the Championship, even Oggy is saying he had to score from there.

I think the vik one and the godden one first half were both decent chances , interesting to see the XG especially the vik one

I disagree, we have created good chances that haven't been put away but the last few games that has gone down.

yeah I think we all get the picture that you don't rate him.

He is the best we have in that position by a mile. Competition will bring more out of him but with the current squad if you gave me a choice of him or anyone else we have, I'd pick him.

He's played almost every game, probably covers more ground than anyone in most games. I would imagine fatigue is playing a big part.

It's a good chance but it's not like he has skied it with an open goal. I would say a few others had similar chances tonight where oggy said the same.

Got it wrong? He played the only eleven fit players we have and at least three of them still weren’t fit.

All about squad size for me. We’re forced to play people who aren’t fit let alone on form and have no options but other unfit players to bring in.
He chose to go with 3 up front and not play sheaf, Hamer and Allen in midfield. He chose to take off Waghorn who was playing well and leave the anonymous Godden on. He chose to leave the Taveres sub until 10 mins to go despite Godden being anonymous and blowing.

He had wriggle room.

Only 1 other was as good as that, and thay Gyokeres in the first half. O'hares was the best chance we created all night. He has to score.

It wasn't the best chance all night... it was similar to Gyok. I repeat he should score more but it wasn't a total miss.

Hear that Bidwell is out for six weeks? Either we have the worst luck with injuries in the world or our medical department is simply not up to scratch. It was the same last season as well, it’s ridiculous.

He is the only player we have in that position. That's my point.
