18 goals
45 games

2922 minutes played
1 goal every 162 minutes

Take away his penalties

1 goal every 224 minutes

Would still be 18 goals a season at that ratio.

How many more strikers post premier league era have been so consistent for Coventry over a seasons worth of matches ?
The doubters should be able to find loads... crack on

Throw 4 assists in there too 😉

Reaping the rewards of a solid Christian name and a tidy beard.

Imagine how popular he'd be if he did what all good strikers do and took more photos with fans

Godden does keep scoring and is todays wonder boy last few weeks he has been deemed not good enough, my only gripe with him except for being offside...a lot, is that he is not going to get any quicker but if we were using him the way he plays and have chances handed to him he is still useful at this level, Gyokeres is a different type of player and obviously his finishing isn't as good as Goddens but they have almost 30 goals between them IF ONLY the rest of the team would chip in with some more. We are lucky to have 2 goalscorers like these and many teams below us would love to have a strike duo like these 2 and on a relatively small budget, lets hope they progress and get even more next season

So we take Lee Hughes, who despite being a shit human was a good striker , as the only one since the Premier league at this level with a record on par for us .. then the lads done good ..point proven

Edit :Lee hughes is actually 14 in 38

Struggling then lads eh ? Maybe it shows he's a great record yes .. time to stop with the nonsense talk I believe and show godden the respect he deserves

Never in question for most of us Evo.

God is not peak Michael Owen rapid but has some real football intelligence - his movement off the ball is very under-appreciated.

And he's been unlucky with injuries since we got promoted to the Champ - it's hard for strikers at this level to return to match sharpness after a lay off.

Most importantly I've heard him say 'he's a confident lad in front of the sticks.' Has the confidence and finishing ability to back himself when a chance is there. All of our players have different qualities - but only God has that real confidence.

Just wish we had a decent song for him!

Didn't we pay something like £5M for Hughes some 21 years ago?

Matty Godden's one of us
Hits the net without a fuss
You can try to park the bus
But he'll still score us goals

Had the same number of passes yesterday as both Shipley and Clarke-Salter.

(I love Godden btw)

Patrick Bamford averages 14 passes per match over his career , o hare had 20 passes yesterday as an attacking midfielder , he's near the ball alot more .. godden after looking through several matches tends to get between 12 and 20 a match

Mo salah averages 33 passes per match
Timo werner averages 14 passes per match
Ivan toney average 22 passes per match
Raheem sterling 20 passes per match

So it's taken 20 years .. brilliant

I was being slightly facetious but mpg isn’t a great measurement - marlon King on that basis must have been pretty good I guess and mcsheffrey in one early season

MPG is a fair measurement of how you are doing over a long period of time .. your argument holds weight if its after about 3 matches .

Even away from minutes per game , it's 18 in 45 games at this level for us which is a fantastic return at Championship level and arguibly the best record of any striker here since relegation from the premiership in this league .. there's no argument to be had here is there ?

Oh , and he's not a league 1 striker.. his record puts him firmly as a championship level striker

What are you hoping to prove with this stat?

That he wasn’t very involved in the game yesterday (and typically isn’t). It’s not meant as a gotcha - he’s clearly still capable of influencing the result - but it’s interesting to me.
