He’s had 2 of the worst jobs in football yet his colleagues Lampard and Gerrard have walked into top jobs.

Still look at the response above. The headline stating a black manager is being interviewed and the response is ‘what are they thinking lol’. It’s so sad that football has such a long way to travel in this area

The comparisons between Sol Campbell, Lampard and Gerrard is not really helpful. Gerrard and Lampard spent time coaching at Liverpool and Chelsea before getting their jobs and ultimately had the success to justify their appointments.

Campbell hasn’t done anything in his managerial career to get a Championship job. As far as I’m aware, hasn’t done coaching at a lower level like Lampard and Gerrard who have been around and part of a winning culture as coaches.

Campbell did really well at Macclesfield, all things considered. As for Southend, they got relegated. Tough jobs, but ultimately didn’t stick around any of them (free pass for his role at Macclesfield) to get any sustained success. I don’t know what jobs Campbell has been going for, if Sunderland is the only club to give him an interview… suggests probably aiming for jobs where he’d be a massive rosk

Objectively, if Robins left us, no one in their right mind would want a manager with Campbell’s CV to replace MR. It’s a high risk appointment and the likelihood, in my estimation, is that it won’t be a successful partnership.

I want to see Sol Campbell get a chance, at the right League 1 or 2 club, he could build a good reputation to get those bigger jobs!
