Stuart Linell Has Lost the Plot (2 Viewers)

Hes written a blog now called 'Why I was right about Andy Thorn'. Claiming to have inside knowledge he doesn't have - said he'd been speaking to the national media and one had said 'Coventry City have gone from mad to bad'. They didn't say that to him, it was a tweet from the Mail I think it was anyone could have read. He's also on C and W every five min claiming to be in the know. Blatantly, most people did want Thorn out completely against what he was claiming as fact on radio - when Brolly did the phone in Sunday which I called into, suddenly 90%+ are agreed it was right decision. Guess the question is, what is he trying to achieve?

The bloke is deluded! I didn't want Thorn to get sacked, certainly not at this stage of the season, but his attitude to callers on the radio who did have that view was embarrassing. He has his own agenda and shouts over anyone who disagrees. I can't decide who I dislike more, him or the other arrogant, tubby presenter this city has produced.

I can't stand him either. The guy does not make a good presenter, at least not what I'd call a good presenter. He has his way of seeing things and won't accept any other viewpoint. If you're in the media, that's the worst kind of way to be. I find him totally unsuitable for his role.

Is there a link to the blog?

To be fair there are a few on here, up until yesterday, who were pretty much agreeing with most of what he said.

And why would you say 'Ive spoken to Andy Thorn twice today but that conversation will remain private if you don't mind'. No one knew it existed til he bought it up!

I agree that managers need time...if you have the right person. Not looking for stability at the expense of all other logical judgements.

Good Lord!!!!!!!

I am still confused as to why he considers himself to be a footballing expert? He acts as though he is a well respected figure within the game.

It's a very poor article with many contentious points that he passes off as facts. But perhaps the most damning aspect of the article is that he doesn't actually address its very title, i.e. explain "why (he) was right" about Andy Thorn.

i like linnell on the ccfc coverage but he is doing a keeny dalglish and is badly out of touch regarding the supporters attitude regarding thorn. nearly everyone in my office wanted thorn out....

I like how he dismisses those who phone in, use twitter or read the CT as a "minority" yet claims the Thorn supporters he speaks to during the week represents the "majority" of fans... how is that any less of a minority?!

The arrogance of the man is incredible. "Why I was right" - oh dear.

I also thing Linnell will be getting a call from BBC CWR bosses asking him reel his neck in a minute. They wont like one of there presenters being a hate/baffoon/laughing stock figure within the City....

He's badly wrong regarding Thorn and the supporters attitude towards him...

Stuart, are you deluded, you harp on rarely give a caller chance to finish their sentences before brandishing them wrong about AT,and you think you know what a Coventry fan wants.
I suggest you take a look around the forums of true supporters of ccfc and you will see what people think of thorn and Yourself Infact .
13 wins in 60 games and you defend him..quite odd really

I wonder how long his comment will last!! :D

I see he has also mentioned his 'radical' plan to deduct points for sacking managers-

He is just a publicity seeking clown. I think I'll send him a little text tomorrow telling him he is the poor mans Jon Gaunt. He is trying the shock jock tactics and it's just poor.

Why he was right?

He has been proved so very, very wrong.

It's been made very clear that the board agreed with this so called 'minority' who talked 'nonsense' in wanting AT replaced.

We are all taking about him - that's enough for the voice of Coventry City to make him think he's right.

I was so annoyed with the bloke on Saturday when he announced that all the texts he would be reading out that were anit-Thorn were 'nonsense.'

This sort of comment is so against what the BBC stands for.

Mind, if he were to be sacked it should be simply for being crap at his job.

He keeps saying "how do we know if he's a good manager when he hasnt be given the tools"
He's the tool, id say 90% of football league managers work with 1 hand tied behind their back, best players sold, working to a budget. I cant even be bothered to read it but im sure he doesnt state that Thorn stubbornly and bizzarely refused to drop this diamond formation that clearly didnt suit our players and more obviously didnt work and as for this playing football shit i dont think passing side-side-back without any penetration in the box, (pardon the pun) slow boring build up. that in my eyes is shit football.

Funny thing is The Voice of Coventry will now say one two things;

If Coventry do well "These are Andy Thorn's players, this is Andy Thorn's team - this is proof that Andy Thorn is a good manager. FACT"

If Coventry fail "I told you from the outset the club were wrong to sack Thorn. This shows I am right. FACT"

Only fact I know is this programme is something I listened to all the time. Now I can't be bothered. Lost interest a couple of years ago when the ego returned. That's a fact.

He doesn't give us any idea in the article as to why he was "right about Andy Thorn"!.....Left a comment saying that but knowing him, as it's not in agreement with him I'll be dismissed as one of the minority talking nonsense.

Hang on - Thorn's gone but lets not pretend that 90% of Managers have to deal with what he has. It simply isn't true.

The bloke's gone. He was good at signing players but couldn't get it right tactically it seems. Let's move on.
