Think a defender from the premiership is very close , couple of other fringe players perhaps . The striker is more of a juggle , with four strikers currently here . any striker coming in would want assurance’s they will get game time , difficult for MR to give this until movement on players going out happens
Don’t imagine the club are best pleased if he’s given his word with a medical booked?

Got to be slightly worried though havent we?

Clearly our 2 main CB targets were him and JCS

Where does that leave us now?

However on the plus side, it does at least show that MR Knows we need 2 CB's which we all agree on

I think we will still see 2 CB's 1 LWB and 1 striker with Kane, Dacosta, and one of Waghorn/ Walker going
Yep I'm more positive now as it looks like we are after 2. Was dreading going into the season with just 4 CBs

Not really as you'd hope that the recruitment team have multiple names in reserve in case their favoured targets didn't come off.

Clubs of our stature rarely get their primary or even secondary targets anyway so it's not really out of the norm for this to happen.

This time last year everyone was poo-hooing the JCS signing because Blues fans didn't rate him. Now one year later people are acting as though the second messiah ditched us. This young lad from Man City, again no one had heard of him and suddenly doom and gloom. Burnley will struggle massively this coming season as they are replacing seasoned professionals with a group of young up and coming kids. If people care to remember over the past few years we were all going crazy as we had a german, a couple of french lads and a dutch player coming in and we thought we'd found the next Ronaldo.
Trust in MR, not in Andy Turner or I'm sad to say a few very knowledgeable guys on here. Coming the first game of the season and we will be ready.

he's a rcb not a lcb so was not a replacement for jcs

Said it before, we are currently being gazumped by clubs with more money who realise we know what we are doing with our recruitment. It is a standard business practice even outside of football. Look what a successful team are doing and pinch the players at the last minute. How much closer can you get than stolen from under you when coming for a medical. That said, I believe we have a coaching staff that is equal to any in this league. Our progress depends now on how good our players are, who we can keep and if we can avoid injury with such a small squad. Think Fisher set us up with his interview in the Althletic regarding how little financial legroom we have after the pandemic.

I don’t Im just assuming we put this deal on hold in favor of JCS
The main aim I think has always to bring in 3 players that could compete and hold their own in the first eleven
Centre back
Attacking midfielder Palmer
Striker

They will have a pool of players for each of these positions , JCS they never thought it could happen but then got some positives signals , the Man City defender I understand was all ready to go today but as soon as Burnley came in that was that
There are a lot of clubs that want their players to join us , the fact Man City are one these is great news , still expect a bit of movement next week

Then I think they will bring in 2/3 fringe players
