The Times understands that Sisu, a Mayfair-based hedge fund, is considering a sale of Coventry City, believing that Wasps’ distress may present an opportunity for a third party to make an offer for the club and, at the same time, bid to acquire the lease for the arena. A senior source said Sisu was “open for business”. Sisu itself is unlikely to make an offer for the stadium because of its troubled relationship with Coventry city council, which owns the freehold.

We can only dream. Hopefully a potential buyer may see last seasons finish and this seasons potential promise, combine that with some good player assets providing SISU don’t try and cash in on them before selling us and there’s some real promise if they can acquire the lease for the arena.

Maybe Tim point about selling the club at its highest value point is now upon us. Story has came from somewhere and may have legs. I know what the fans want will not come into a decision about a sale, but i do think they have took us as far as they can.

It may have also have a lot to do with Wasps situation, sisu could be trying to jump before they get lumbered with new people demanding something new which could create another problem at the stadium. The more u look the more it makes sense especially if a new owner could deal and take the lease off Wasps.

It maybe wishful thinking but i think something is about to drop and Joy will be out at some point, in fact think it was mentioned couple of weeks ago. Could be connected.

If Wasps did jump ship and Joy decided its best to sell, i don't think they would be short of interested parties. Its a club on the up with a very good manager who with the right funding could take it higher.

It didn't occur to me previously that sisu don't need to own the ground themselves for it to be a big asset. The ground is worth a good deal less without a team to play there and suddenly it's the club, as sitting tenants, that becomes valuable in the equation if Wasps are essentially bust...

Sisu is thought to be open to the football club changing hands or a part-sale of equity if a third party also manages to acquire the lease for the stadium, which was built by the council in 2005. The source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the natural next step for Coventry City was promotion to the Premier League, but that would require “serious investment”, possibly from a third party. “This is a real opportunity for growing the club into its potential,” the source said.

Plenty would be interested in the club if it was open to offers. Problem would be its not straight forward deal, many factors and not the easiest people to deal with. Somebody leaked this out and is for a reason.

I'm just glad this has come out after that chancer Southall was involved in the Birmingham deal. No way he can get his grubby, desperate hands near the club.

Our clubs current finances (based on the last set of accounts) look significantly better than almost every club in the Championship…. Although that’s a pretty low bar ! We lost circa £3.4m
For a potential new owner of a championship club that would not deter them….. what might is Sisu price to sell & the added stadium.
Derby’s pride park went for about £22-24m.
If Wasps want £35m …. That’s unrealistic in comparison.

I don't want to worry anybody but... lots of maybes around the ground (our new one at Warwick Uni hasn't increased interest), unable so far to sell player(s), a good source suggests we might be close to desperate, main asset injured.

It could be we've reached the point where SISU *need* investment, or it's fire sale time.
