Taking the Knee (1 Viewer)

I was happy to support whatever decision the players decided to make

But the knee has lost it’s touch ever so slightly in my opinion

No. They’ve said they’re not going to do it at *every* game. The statement reads as though they are going to at some matches.
Would assume designated games where campaigns like kick it out are on. Common sense to tie in with those games

If players want to do it fine. But after a while perhaps the impact of it gets lost. Perhaps time to find other ways of getting the message across.

The work clubs are doing within their own set up and local communities is far more important going forward.

That's exactly what they're doing. The comments on the Facebook post saying they won't be doing it every game are disappointing to say the least.

An anti-racism stance has no relevance to football?

They all came out and said their stance, the stance of taking a knee, was an anti-racism stance and that everyone should treat people equally.

You only need to read the released statements, stating why they were doing it.

Some knuckle draggers just won't accept that. They'll call it political.

I do think it's run its course a bit now and lost the message. Think maybe that doing it less regularly may be more powerful.

Of course not, but BLM was a political movement with sinister motives, that had no place in football or any sport for that matter.
I'm all for removing racism, unfortunately taking a knee at football isn't going to change anything.
It wasn’t started by BLM?
I’d be more concerned about the bigotry from the old form clubs, personally, if you want to talk about politics in football.

And it hasnt, it's got infinity worse, just ask those players that have been on the receiving end of all those neanderthals posts and actions inside AND outside the game.
These 'peoples' mindsets are so twisted and warped taking a knee is utterly pointless, it will change nothing.
And no, I don't know what the answer is, far far cleverer people than me can't figure it out for sure.

taking the knee was always about promoting equality, I fail to see how anybody can come out with the guff that you have. It is racist and because of people like you things won’t change.

It would be nice if we continued it when everyone else is stopping and then it would be more powerful and valuable, although I do understand its wider concept had to have a natural conclusion at some point.
