The pitch’s in the 60s & 70s were unbelievably bad But it was usually during the winter months, the pitch’s were a muddy quagmire brilliant for sliding and getting filthy.
The difference here is it’s summer ‘and a dry summer at that’ the pitch’s will be dry as a bone & as hard as concrete, brilliant for breaking bones and bursting skin.
