Agree with a lot of the above but new contracts for Hamer and Ohare was the right move. Without them both would’ve been going into final year this summer and offers would’ve reflected that. with his injury we’d be offloading ohare for £1m in Jan if we hadn’t or losing him for a free. At least we have a chance of getting decent value for them still…if they get/stay on the pitch (now we have one !)

The bigger issue is we’ve got waghorn, walker and Kane on big contracts and none are in Robins plans. That’s management/recruitments fault ultimately

I still think SISU are willing to sell up. If the club wasn’t for sale, Im sure Jordan would’ve said so recently. This
is the top of their cycle unless we fluked promotion or a couple of amazing kids came through the system that brought in big money. Both unlikely to be worth the gamble. Someone needs to put a decent offer in, which is unlikely to happen until Wasps/stadium position is clear. Until then we’re stuck with them so may as well focus on supporting the team
SISU have always been willing to sell up. As long as their price was met. But no-one has been willing to meet it. Which suggests they're over-valuing it.

It's amazing that we've just had a statement saying that we need to face the reality of increasing costs etc, yet the owners themselves won't because they expect to get a big return on their investment, even though their management doesn't warrant it. We keep on getting the nonsense about their investment, which includes the interest on loans which is not investment - it's desired returns. Expecting 17% plus return on the money you've put in in the current climate, and when you've managed it so badly, is just ludicrous. These people live in some la-la land where they think they're entitled to make money regardless.

We made money on big returns on transfers. When Boddy said we haven’t sold anyone in the championship he fails to mention we had over £1 m on the Wilson sale

Indeed. Conveniently left out to support the narrative.

Although really it still highlights that a significant player sale is needed every season to cover operational costs. That strategy hasn't changed and if anything is only exacerbated further while the club competes in the Championship.

How many years have they had to make progress on a stadium of our own though?

That fantasy isn't happening.

We know the strategy is to try and wait Wasps out but what if they get another bailout. We just have to sit and wait for another 5 years for something?

Fucking joke of a strategy.
There isn't going to be a new stadium, it was always BS to put pressure on CCC and ACL / Higgs etc. But CCC pulled the rug from under Sisu with the sale to Wasps.

If I were to speculate, I'd say Sisu will keep the BS going in order to have some kind of bargaining power if and when the CBS Arena were to become available.

As in, an empty stadium is a financial disaster for administers to deal with, but CCFC could help out, by abandoning their plans for a new stadium IF (and only if) the price is right.

Bit of a long stretch I know, but I can't see any other way this plays out.

I don't think there will be much of that, or it will soon peter out. Outside of the cross-eyed types on SM and on here, I don't sense there is much appetite to go down that road again.

A few bad results, maybe another sale in the window and i think it will be pretty prominent within weeks. Hopefully none of it comes to pass as i really dont want a return to that type of atmosphere ever again. As Evo says above, it won't change the minds of our owners and it will just demoralise the team and wider fanbase.

I never get on players backs at games and always try and get behind them. I think most on here are the same when at the match.
I fully understand the supporting of the team

but if you’re paying 350 for a poor product

fans have a right to complain- more with the owners than the boys on the pitch

I agree, I was referring more to tomorrow night. Like you say, we're still bottom in 6 games time and it'll start to turn toxic, if not before then.

I don’t think we’ll sell again as if they’ve released this statement and then have plans on selling further I think it’s pretty silly timing

if you were going to sell further you’d compose this statement when window shuts

Because we don't own the Arena, we pay rent and have very limited access to revenue streams.
I'm not sure what our break even figure is concerning attendances, but clearly we arnt reaching it.
I'm sure Sisu would snatch the hand off anyone who is prepared to buy the club off them, but I doubt anyone would pay much for a business that's making a loss every year and needs constantly bailing out.
wasps own the Arena what good has it done them has it made them a richer club.

There was a bit of the "fuck everyone" song at Hull but that could have been pitch related as much as anything else i suppose. Ill be absolutely gutted if we end up back in a toxic shitpit again, my little boy has his first ST this season and loves going....feels far too early to be explaining a relegation battle and a generally angry match experience to him!

Fingers crossed we can start avoiding it with a rare win over Preston tomorrow, id love to beat the shithousing bastards.

They were never going to succeed here.
It's not a Rugby supporting city for a start, and we already had a club of our own.
Their business case was totally rediculous.

I've no idea if CCFC's business case is any better, but it would be nice to find out.

I hope you're right but the massive cynic in me thinks that statement was about setting the scene for a big sale to cover the increased running costs 😂

Fingers crossed im just being overly negative!

Where will those clubs be in 8 years - where will we be?

What sort of question is that?

If you'd asked that question 8 years ago, when we were at Northampton, would have have said in 8 years time we'd be higher than all those clubs in the league pyramid with SISU still in charge? Of course not.

Hmm. Plenty of factors outlined in the statement that would warrant the club needing to sell and as such it offers them a platform to present their case on why a further sale was necessary if one materialises over the next couple of days.

But that's just the sceptic in me talking.

So we just accept it do we?
Do you have anything to back up your apocalyptic nonsense that isn't other weird people being weird on twitter and facebook?

In the real world losing Hyam isn't ideal but apart from a few mistakes from our normally good keeper we would likely have won 2 out of 3 and maybe all 3.

Agree but we don’t have the funds to improve in the goal keeping department

so we’re stuck with 2 poor goalkeepers

Stability? We've had one season back in Cov, had 3 league games postponed and 1 Cup game moved to Burton this season.
I'm not saying that's all on the owners but it's hardly stability no matter who's at fault.

And I've not seen anyone advocating spending silly money but it was clear once winter came last season that our squad was painfully thin and they didn't do enough to support Robins, even with loans.
They've given up trying to even progress us incrementally.
Exactly this. Couldn't have put it better myself.

It wouldn’t wash anyway regardless of the tripe they’ve discussed in that statement

If.
If we had won all the matches we should have last season we would be in the Prem, but we didnt.

well it’s a pretty specific question. Slightly important as well

You want me to predict where Sheff Wed's, Derby, Charlton, Ipswich, Portsmouth and Coventry will be in 8 years from now?

I'm guessing the timescale has something to do with our tenancy, but that is also impossible to predict, all sorts of variables.
