The thing Wilder has on his side is the amount of matches he been involved with, nearly 500 of which hes won over 200. Name me a manager that has managed over 200 games? Let alone 200 victories, hes a decent candidate and has that mentality already installed!

I genuinely believe this is the appointment our club needs.big names never deliver at this club..somebody young .ambitious.and who is used to winning/promotion.at 44 could be a long term appointment for us..some of our fans have to accept we could be in league for 2-3 years minimum.

I'd prefer Wise, but compared to some of the names like Ince and Dickov being mentioned I'd definately take him.

I think 4-3-3 could work quiet well, Baker on one flank and Elliott or McGoldrick on the other. Just not sure how Fleck will fit in.

Sounds like a well thought out selection to me....yes in management terms he is young in age but on games he seems to have had 9 or 10 years of exerience and over that time has a superb win ratio

12th an 9th place finishes, hardly inspiring stuff tbh.

Must say I am encouraged by him. Current on a 47% win ratio at Oxford. We have been lucky to get anywhere near 30% with our lot of the past many season.

Yea I just think it is a similar gamble as to when you buy a conference/L2 player and hope they can make the step up to the higher level. Some can and others can not

Because he plays an attacking formation.

Because he should be young and hungry

Because he isn't a big name and I think it is those we should steer away from if at all possible (Wise excepted ... and I say Wise as an exception because I think he would be an inspirational figure)

Just because he is young, does that make him hungry ? I think that sounds good, but there isn't ever proof of this.

His win ratio is of lower leagues, has 0 experiance in the higher leagues.

Also heard that he was kept in the job because he was good mates with the old chairman.

There's lots of big names being banded about but I for one am very wary of all these big names (Megson, Ince etc.)

The only name that interests me is Dennis Wise and that is simply because I think he would be an inspirational and motivational manager and we need a revolution here.

The thing is, is that this opportunity to get Wise won't come along again and you just know another club in the championship or league 1 will get him and be promoted. I'm not against Wilder but imo Wise is the man

Experienced AND inexperienced managers have both failed here previously.

we shouldn't write any manager off that has failed somewhere else before, IMO that's what helps make some managers better. For example Ian Holloway was a better manager after what happened at Leicester.

Now is the time for someone with a bit behind him.
We need experience this time.

It doesn't matter how big or small they are as long as they good for us.

I don't really know enough about Wilder to feel optimistic about his possible appointment, I would give him a chance but wouldn't want to heap unneeded pressure by getting my hopes up about his appointment

Either way there is one thing a new manager wil need to succeed is a bit of luck. Sometimes you just need something to go your way and it can change the mentality of your whole team.

Not necessarily. Norwich recruited Lambert from Colchester - its not the name that matters but the potential ability.

Same at Southampton - Atkins was at Scunthorpe.

I just wish they'd get this sorted out now. The more time we mess around with this manager appointment, means more time lost getting our results going the right way.

We need to stop the rot now, nip it in the bud while we have the opportunity before the team becomes so disheartened that we can't turn things around.

Thats what happened last season. SISU should have had Thorn out by Christmas (as many have already said) and installed another manager in his place.

That manager could have stopped the rot, got the players playing to their potential but having a very limited knowledge of football, SISU felt Thorn could do it and they left him there, to the doom of our season and the relegation that followed.

The time is now, Fisher needs to come through on his promise he made the other week. The new manager must be installed by the Stevenage game or things will continue to grow ever worse, something we can't afford right now im afraid

Sisu have a very poor record of appointing managers. We can hope the present occupants will fare better but we have to be concerned. Giving a manager a contract extension then sacking him is an error of judgement one way or the other. It's a worry and a huge challenge for whoever steps in, whoever it is needs our unified support.
