Dodgy ref again (9 Viewers)

And their fans will be saying it wasn't a pen for us and Fadz should have been sent off for pushing their player to the floor. People get way too worked up over refs.

But it was a pen? Nobody can deny that. Fadz pushing a player to the floor isn't a red.

I admit we all moan in hindsight but we haven't had the luck of the draw this season.

There are blind, paranoid people who think it’s just us who has poor, partial officials. It’s happening everywhere.

People always blast the likes of Mike Dean’s character. There’s not enough of them who stamp the necessary authority.

Thr ref today was abysmal, that's a fact

This particular official has reffed us against Luton 3 times. Each game he has made ridiculous decisions in their favour.

When it's the same ref being so poor against the same team, it's beyond general incompetence.

Coventry player brings down Luton player 10 yards inside his own half -yellow.

Luton player brings down Coventry player in 6 yard box - yellow.

Luton player brings gs down coventry 10 yards inside his own half - no card!

Imagine embarrassing yourself defending this shit.

We'll go back to some of his other decisions. Countless times today he gave 50/50 decisions their way and penalised Gyo for making tackles. In the past:

Giving a penalty against a Coventry player for a foul committed several yards outside the box.

Sending off a Coventry player for a handball blasted at him from point blank.

I hardly ever think a ref actually has it in for us but he surely does. Normally if a ref has a shocker he has it both ways, not one way for 3 separate games.

In the warm up he fist bumped their coaching staff and waved hello at their Goalie.

Completely ignored our lot.

Sorry but if he knows their staff then whether he is an amazing ref or not he’ll have confirmation bias when referring Luton. He’ll be biased towards them but not fully conscious of it.

Watch the Netflix documentary about NBA refs who bet against games and you’ll understand why.

Seen far far worse, think people are totally overreacting. However, I don't tend to get worked up over refs as football teams win and lose matches not officials.
Fuck me, do you want to come up with anymore boring cliches? He was quite obviously shit. You can have teams not playing that well, or even playing well, and the ref still having a shocker. They’re not mutually exclusive, they’re independent of each other. You get that, right?
As for not influencing the result, there was another penalty incident. Clear as day. Ref looked in a pretty decent position. Defender had his arms away from his body and it hit his hand. It actually happened twice, but the one in the 2nd half was way more clear.
Pathetic 1st yellow for JWE as well. You could see the ref thinking he’d given them three, might as well give us 1.

If City had won you wouldn't have cared less about the ref.

Definite second yellow I was wrong
Great reaction from fadz and Norton cuffy
I was generally impressed with our playing of the ref.
yok needs to go to hamers mentor from the last 20 games cos he’s learned how to coax the ref into giving him decisions and not booking him
Yok should have been booked in each of the last 4 home games for dissent and same again yesterday but he gets nothing and it’s outrageous
The only thing the ref did well was ignore everything going on around him. The melee was nowhere near as bad as it looked from behind the goal

Since that last red, Hamers self control and interaction with officials has been impeccable. Thank God as we need him as much as possible

I shouted cheat after the second yellow but the highlights show I was wrong what made you think he cheated?
Jeez Pete, don’t just look at one decision, look at the game overall.
I know the club never complain about referees, but I wish they would make an exception for this one.
He has made too many bad decisions against us for it to be coincidence.
The twats bias for reasons only he knows.
And just for the record, I have never said that about any other ref.
And yes, I am old enough to know better.

Really Bell should be having to explain the questionable decisions to the fa disciplinary committee (if they still have one) while accepting his ban for using twatter to question the ref who was in their pocket.

I was looking at the overall game. I just wondered which specific decisions you felt weren’t credible

I couldnt believe some of his decisions - even the Walker one right at the end ! Why do we keep getting the muppets for our games
That was bizarre as well. Maybe one that looks different in a replay but at the time looked to me like the Luton player clumsily lunged in to try and tackle Walker, the ball continues into their box, so he gives a foul against Walker who has just been unsuccessfully challenged?

From memory

Not sending off their player for a shirt pull denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity

Penalising Gyo for making a tackle, late second half

Penalising Walker for a collision with one of their players

Inconsistency-booking JWE for a naïve miscued shot but Bidwell taken out in more reckless fashion, nothing given

In general he was giving pretty much every 50/50 to them. It was a very poor display

Yeah - that was right in front of us, and I had no clue as to what the ref had given that for. Bizarre!

conversely Hamer could have been booked at least a couple of times and wasn’t

Why he would have still been shit.
Ok we were poor but there is no defending this clown.
That many mistakes in any other job you are gone, they seem to be untouchable managers cant say what they think or they get fined its like a stalinist regime.
If you moan about the ref you are a bad loser/ making excuses sorry dont buy it.

Haven't defended anyone just don't get why everyone is so worked up about the ref as in the big picture his role yesterday is the least of our worries.

On what basis would it not be a red card?

in real speed it’s not even clear if Gyokeres would get to the ball first it was at an angle not towards goal - I personally wouldn’t have expected a red the other way round

He was t good and not consistent but people were moaning yesterday that the JWE second billing wasn’t a yellow. It could have been a straight red it was certainly a yellow it was ridiculous
