Picks up injuries and that doesn’t help him to be picked regular sadly for him, personally, I still think he has a mistake in him too regular as well. Some great games but others he is exposed

He's done better than many of the players we came up with tbf. When you consider who has stepped up better... O'Hare definitely, Fadz definitely, Godden yes but he's hot and cold... that's about it really isn't it.

Whilst technically Rose is good, and he has an eye for a pass, he's not aggressive enough and is prone to lapses in concentration. Would prefer we bring through George Burroughs, and that St Albans City lad we signed as back ups next season. We need 3 CBs in the summer (hopefully McInally & Panzo on perms) and one other.
Have you seen the St Albans signing play? I'd be surprised if he's ready to be backup in the Championship.

Sure you can - McNally is clearly miles better than Rose.

Panzo was the next Franco Beresi the way he was built up on here after a few games

Hyam and Wilson arguably. I had Rose and Dabo down to do well at this level so maybe with both it’s a case of high expectations.

Hyam has gone so he's dead to me, I always preferred Rose anyway but maybe I'm wrong. Wilson this season you're probably right, behind a very good defense but he's improved beyond recognition. Wouldn't say he stepped up from league 1, he never played in it because he was shite.
I agree with you though on expecting better from both Rose and Dabo. Rose has done OK, and well, it's well documented how I think Dabo has played for the last 2 years.

Remember when the twitterati claimed Leeds wanted Rose?

Then we had his best mate Dawkins claiming that Rose was the only player we recieved a solid bid for

More bullshit

Hes alright as a squad player but he and his entourage clearly think hes a lot better than he actually is. Id wager if we release him he ends up at a high end L1 side

If he's serious about being a top player, he'd ask what McNally and Doyle do that he doesn't do enough and work his ass off to plug that gap.

Here's hoping he does that. Good enough to be a squad player. Needs to step up to McNally's level if he wants to be a starter here or somewhere else.

I think we should offer Rose a new contract, it'd be risky not to given we have only one other contracted centre back. There are elements of his game which can be better but he's another one who gets a lot of unfair criticism imo.

I am not saying he is a bad player. I just felt at 28 and quite a few games behind him he missed an opportunity when McFadz got injured. He was ideally placed to take charge of the defence and say I can fill these boots.

He didnt. Which has kept him as a fairly good player to have around the squad. He is not a talker and not a organiser. McNally is and with far less experience did what Rose didnt do - put on the shirt and take ownership of the defence.

He’s not Mcfazdean though and should be played on one side of the back 3 - Hyam in the Mcfazdean role would have been exactly the same - Rose can distribute better

Doyle? He’s erratic and has zero pace. Interesting to see where his career actually goes.

Rose has played at least a hundred more than McNally in his career as a starter surely?

I am talking leadership and organisation skills. He was the most experienced by far in the back three.

In McNally's first game he did more talking than Rose had done all season.

It’s just an odd take - I think rose is 27 isn’t he and McNally 23 and rose has played 150 more games at professional level?

Doyle at 19 has played left side, right side and centre of the three with some impressive performances for us. His playing out from the back and range of passing is as good as Rose. He has already proved he is more adaptable than Rose.

Perhaps he's just not that player? Not every centre half is a leader and organiser. Doyle isn't.

Rose isn't a particularly aggressive player but he doesn't get done 1:1 often and he uses the ball well

If Rose had got embarrassed by Diallo like Doyle you'd have never heard the end of it on here

I mean was Hyam vocal - ever?

Your obsession with number of games as a key metric for comparing players 🤣🤣

Where am I obsessed?

You decided biamou was better than Gyokeres as he was playing more games than him.

I'm talking about here and now. Robins trusts Doyle and McNally over him right now. You'd hope if he asked, he'd be told why.

I accept loan obligations might play a part but based on our record with those two alongside Fadz, they're in the XI on merit.

As you say loan obligations will play a part

It's pretty much your only metric when comparing players or judging new signings.

No I didn't.

Do you think Rose is better than McNally?

Maybe he isnt that sort of player? But under the circumstances with his experience v Doyle and Panzo
I expected him to show a bit more leadership to be honest. It was left to Bidwell to try and organise the defence from the wingback position - not ideal.

You did say that and as biamou was in my opinion total rubbish versus Gyokeres even though Gyokeres was dumped by his other loan club that’s not the metric I use is it

I think rose and McNally have different attributes

Regarding centre halves you also of course stated Hyam was a better defender than Mcfazdean which frankly is ludricous

You said Gyokeres was as bad as Biamou.

But we're not talking about Biamou. You're deflecting as usual.

Do you think Rose is better than McNally?
