they can rest as many as they like providing criteria is met regarding replacements
Yes. Certain criteria only. Resting your best players who have played nearly every game for those who haven't played most games isn't acceptable.

What they could do is sub them early.

No, the rules allow any selection provided at least 10 squad players used in the previous x games are picked.

That’s how I understand it.

No Giles for them today. No Howson. Rested? Got a knock?

Really difficult to prove that a few players aren’t 100%.

Even if a slight knock, if the game isn’t crucial, you don’t take the risk.

Middlesbrough can rest / rotate / not risk a fair few of their first team.

With injures and knocks you can circumvent that situation, bench them rather than play them it still keeps within rules of so many from the regular squad not playing or in the squad.. The rules are very lax not as strict as most think. You cant risk a player, you do have to consider their future? rightly or wrongly and a players fitness. bending the rules yes ut who can prove otherwise.?

Can also name them in the squad and use later if needed. Or start them and change at HT. Several ways of doing it.

But this the time of the season clubs are watched very carefully. There won't be many changes if any at all.

Changing the subject. If we were to play luton or boro in the semis then tickets for them it should be what they give then we give, so if luton give say 1000 then max they get is 2000, if boro give 2000 then we give no more than 2500. would it sell out or more in the home end? give cov the choice with day trippers or not. Its a bit contensious as should we take the money or give home the benifit of more tickets? the atmosphere that cov create is ok ok. So shove them into a corner and F%%4ck them excuse my spelling?

If Doug is happy we would sell I think he’d do it. We’d then have to sell which going on the blues game I reckon we would. Nowhere near a full house again at Blackburn

Its dodgy aint it? bending rules which are very flexible. as long as we dont kick off late ? which considering it is away wont be our problem. Sunlan wont see it that if it all goes against them.?

The thing is with play off gate money it is shared betwen all the 4 clubs i think, it dont go to the host? i might be wrong. In playoffs so much goes to EFL regardless then you share betwen all participents?

Yes it’s entirely acceptable as long as the players who replace them meet the criteria - we could if through replace Gyokeres with Walker whose a member of the first team squad. Rest Hamer as well as long as it’s not a non first team replacement

We kicked off late in '97 whilst away. They still blame us for that.

And the incident on the M1 that meant our team coach was late getting to WHL was a Sunderland fan's car breaking down
I didn't know that.

If that is true, it's the fact of the day.

Was that spurs? beyond our control. yes they still blame. They are worse than scousers for blaming. They have no conception that they didnt do it? I assume it is sunlan you are talking about? i dont get why we worry about them, they aint beat us for years not when it matters anyway

That's why the FL will keep a close eye. They don't want Sunderland crying for the next hundred years even if they fall 4 points short.

Again if it meets eligibility criteria that’s all that matters
