And the point being, I'm being slightly facetious but... to suggest Hamer, unproven at the top level, is worthy (at present) of a place in the Netherlands squad ahead of a chap who was one of the more highly rated youngsters at Ajax, won trophies with them, got a move for £35mil to one of the biggest clubs in the world...
But the bloke who can't get in the Championship team of the year and, until the second half of the season, had a reputation of being talented sure, but blowing hot and cold while also being a red and yellow card liability, is somehow more worthy of a place, as it stands? It's down to Hamer to prove himself at a higher level, and then he might be able to compete with some of the others.

London does get excited - he also thought Walker was worth £7m in his first season here - but was not for sale. He believed we could have gotten £32 million for Hamer Dabo and Walker combined

Being highly rated as a youngster is one thing, but he has clearly been disappointing at Manchester United. How many matches has he started in the last three years? And how well has he played in them. Plenty of examples of promising youngsters who don't fulfil their potential.
To be honest I am not really sure how good he is. Manchester United have not been managed well during his time there so maybe under better management he would have established himself there, but there is little evidence so far that he is fulfilling his early potential.

Yes, nowhere near the sides from when I was a kid. Used to be made up of players from all the top clubs. Feel like a lot of other international sides are in a similar boat.
