Isn't it more to do with the fact that you have to know when to and when not to apply it ?All this slating of ‘bazball’ is bizarre. As mentioned before, something like one win in 14 before Stokes/McCullum came in and 12 in 15 or 16 after, playing some exciting/fun cricket. We’ll probably lose this test and I’d imagine probably the ashes against a very good Australia team, with the top three batsmen in the world and a better attack.
All people have got to ask themselves is how many English lads would get in the Australia team (root, stokes and broad maybe…duckett at a massive push based on innings in this game) ? Even considering that they’ll probably only be two up because of our dropped catches, poor/unlucky spells of bowling when conditions were in our favour and a couple of individual horrific/brainless shots…not because of ‘bazball’
The same people in the media bitching about bazball probably complain about Southgate’s more cautious approach in football
Yep. Pick your moments.stokes now a good example. Last proper batsmen so how does he bat with the tail?Isn't it more to do with the fact that you have to know when to and when not to apply it ?

I hate "Bazball". I love cricket and have done all my life, but I don't particularly like T20. Bazball is making Test cricket more like T20-I like the slow tactical game, not the fast game with "we just made up this tactic, good innit?" arrogance. It may well be making the game more popular with people who like cricket, but I already liked it so had nothing to gainAll this slating of ‘bazball’ is bizarre. I would say it is against the Spirit of the Game rule. And for this Aussie team, that is trying to rehabilitate its image after one of the most high-profile cheating incidents in the history of the game a few years ago, that is not a good look. How is it cheating?
It is, but Bazball also contains "We will stick to our plan and not back down" as part of it's makeup, so of course there is no real way of turning that off. It wouldn't be "Bazball" if they just did it when it made sense!Isn't it more to do with the fact that you have to know when to and when not to apply it ?
the slow tactical game is dying though, attendances outside are awful and fallingI hate "Bazball". I love cricket and have done all my life, but I don't particularly like T20. As for the merits of it-it has some, but the obstinance of sticking to plans when a bit of flexibility is required has bit England already and it will do again. And that 8 down declaration was ridiculous. The modern world is full of dislocated thinking, doing things a certain way because "japes, nobody has ever done it this way before!" But sometimes, that's because the established method is proven to be better.
It's how the Aussies play and they had looked the better side by far. Until this partnership! Go on Stokesy..the slow tactical game is dying though, attendances outside are awful and falling
that's not what i said, test cricket needs new fans as worldwide attendances are very low and have been for a whileIt's how the Aussies play and they had looked the better side by far. Until this partnership! Go on Stokesy..
If you ruin the game at the same time, it's not worth it.that's not what i said, test cricket needs new fans as worldwide attendances are very low and have been for a while
Ruin is way over the topIf you ruin the game at the same time, it's not worth it.
That's not a good look tbh. Obv the players shouldn't be getting pushed around but if you look at the footage they went over to the members so aren't entirely blamelessAustralian team have moaned about verbals and pushes from mcc members at lunch. Give it but can’t take it comes to mind
ruin? ok mateIf you ruin the game at the same time, it's not worth it.
Something like Aussie c**t will have been said so I would think they would go overThat's not a good look tbh. Obv the players shouldn't be getting pushed around but if you look at the footage they went over to the members so aren't entirely blameless
Unless something over the line has been of course
I hope so, but logic says not. Only needs one mistake from Stokes, or one absolute peach delivery and it will be all overAre England actually going to win this
Not if you're Geoffrey Boycott.Ruin is way over the top
True and are you?Not if you're Geoffrey Boycott.
No, but I am similarly archaic in cricketing terms.True and are you?
With you on T20 v 'Long game'. I get the feeling T20 was invented for people who don't like cricket.I hate "Bazball". I love cricket and have done all my life, but I don't particularly like T20.
