With you on T20 v 'Long game'. I get the feeling T20 was invented for people who don't like cricket.
It's the only format of the game I dislike - never attended a game, highly unlikely ever to.
Love my rare outings to the cricket for test or one dayers.
One thing I will say tho is that there's more than one way to 'skin a cat'. I'm all for variation on the long game as long as it brings results (at the moment the jury is out, I think)
Apologies to any cat lovers - Not particularly fond of them but I wouldn't dream of skinning one.
It should be made law for Satan's lap dogs to wear a bell on their collar tho.

I think it's playing with what's at your disposal. In football terms you might change the formation to suit your team if you're strong up top but weak defensively.

Sadly the forward defensive shot is seen as negative cricket these days and the better players are used to playing attackibg way because that's where the money is. I think it's here to stay, so I'm afraid we'll have to get used to it.

We'll just have to see if England are capable of tweaking it so it isn't so bloody-minded to the point of stupidity. And stop saying rubbish like "we don't believe in draws" and "we had to stick to our guns otherwise Australia have won".
