Transfer Rumour BNC (1 Viewer)

I was sceptical at first, but I really think he improved game on game. When his confidence was there, he wasn't afraid to take defenders on and look for a cross (I'm not saying they were successful, but the intent was there!). He only joined in the Jan window, and though Doyle and McNally took many of the plaudits (along with Fadz's return), he was a crucial part of our solid defence at the tail end of the season.

I mean occasionally he did look like a newborn foal, but at 19, part of the England U20 setup, I think if we could get him back on a season loan with a option to buy, I think it would be a sensible option. Can hit the ground running, knows the way we play, knows the players, setup etc.

Plus, he might finally get a game without Vik shouting and flailing his arms at him :ROFLMAO:

Has real potential to become a fans favourite if he signs I think, he’s passionate and a likeable guy, and clearly has potential, and I always enjoy watching his awkward runs where you think he’ll lose it but somehow wriggle his way through

So judging by some of the replies we only want to sign a wingback who can score 10-15 goals and has 20-30 assists ?

Pathetic
2 or 3 goals would be nice, and a couple of assists. And maybe the odd cross.

Is that too much to expect?

It's always the same on here, you bemoan a lack of goals and someone throws up 10-15 goals or something equally rediculous, there's never a sensible reply, it's always one extreme or the other.

Absolutely. I have said it before but we don't use our wingbacks in the way some expect or in the way a lot of other teams do. They are not supposed to be our primary creators, in possession they should be getting as high & wide as possible to create space in the centre for the likes of O'Hare & Palmer particularly to exploit.

That's why this constant rhetoric about us not having wingbacks that beat a man & chuck crosses in is misguided, we don't want them doing that.

BNC scored no goals, and Bidwell scored 1 goal. I wouldn't say there's a huge discrepancy between wing backs.

I wouldn’t judge defenders on how many goals they score, their defending is priority BNC did well in that department can’t remember him getting the run around from opposition, as for Bidwell cracking defender.

Your quite right, might explain why MR was willing to let Bidwell go to Brum.

Dasilva's Championship record is 2 goals in over 130 appearances. Do goal scoring wingbacks exist? Maatsen finishes quite nicely every now and then.

Fairly pointless having him last season if we don't have him this season to benefit from any improvements we coached into him.

Goalscoring defenders are a bonus over the last couple of years McFadzeen has knocked a few in that’s about it really. Nice if we could get a dozen a year from defenders though.

They do exist but are rare and any at this level tend to go to a prem team pretty quickly.

Fans tend to be awful at assessing the potential of young players as they’re not the finished article. Maddison was too lightweight, Jordan Henderson on loan was shit, many weren’t impressed by Maatsen etc.

Was solid at the end of the season and would only improve with a full season with us. Only 19 as well. Would absolutely love to get him permanently as the coaching staff could develop him into top player.

Not sure another loan suits us that much though.

Dasilva was a strange signing for me, he wasn't exactly guaranteed a start at Brizzle, and their fans weren't too bothered to see him go. And a 4 year contract is a bit of a gamble.

Maybe MR has seen something in him that Brizzle fans haven't. I certainly hope so.

I’d be happy enough if he came back.

Him, Doyle and McNally were great for us last year and I’d happily have any/all of them back.

Not so keen on Panzo or Wilson-Esbrand.

He's going to be too good for us and those who say he's shite will look foolish in the coming months/years
This seems likely. Neutrals I know who tuned in only for our play off run thought he and Hamer were our 2 best players.

I don't have the time but I suspect you could make a pretty impressive list of Right Backs or even defensive midfielders that had no goals/assists to their name at 19 years old/21 appearances.

Wasn't there a rumour that Wilson-Esbrand was coming back for another year before the season ended?
Assume that's not happening now?

BNC grew in confidence as the season progressed, he's good but probably not good enough for a top 6 premier club like Arsenal. would have him back
