the concern is- next week the players and staff are away for a week

so there won't be any transfers or dealings then. We never have signed anyone during the tour

we then have a couple of weeks to sign over 10 players who would have had zero integration with the team...
Agreed, you would have thought that with the magnitude of the rebuild required, you would look to have at least 50% of the new players in the building ready to go on tour. In reality we have 1.

Realistically we’re going to get the majority of new signings in around 10 days before Leicester at this rate.

Do we start to merge this with the "negative" topic 😬?.... seriously though I'm feeling very pessimistic about the club and towards Doug today, Robins surely can't be happy with how late we're leaving it?

You think it’s bad now just imagine how bad it’ll be tomorrow when we still haven’t signed anyone and we’re heading off to Portugal with 12 fit players.

Maybe because the contract isnt officially signed while he is the caribbean?
Any news on when he's not going to be the Caribbean? Can't imagine it's an easy task bless him.

Apologies in advance, I'll see my self out.

Dunno what is so hard for people to understand?

We need to wait for the money from the sale of Vik to know what our budget is. Doesn't mean there wouldn't be a budget if the sale collapsed though. It would be considerably smaller yes but there will be a budget for every scenario.

Absolutely no point making filler buys now when we could pool the total budget and buy some quality a little later in the window. It will come together, I'm 100% sure of it.
Just frustrating that King won't (or can't) provide bridging finance to get some of those through the door now before we end up losing signings to other teams. If we know what Sporting are offering now then we can use that as a benchmark for what we can spend and who to bring in adn King can take his money back when the Vik transfer is concluded. The haggling over the final price isn't going to completely change all out targets, at most it will allow one first team signing or two squad players. Besides once Vik is sold clubs will start upping prices knowing that we've got the money in.

He’s probably got to go through a period of decompression in Cyprus like squaddies do to soften the blow of the change from Jamaica to Coventry…..
They’re playing again on Sunday. It’s the Gold Cup (North America’s version of the Euros). Jamaica are playing Guatemala in the quarters.

Too much risk involved in bridging loans when viks sale is still in the balance, he is playing brinkmanship games with Sporting to maximize the profit. I'm happy with that. Let's run the club within its means and not get into debt. Feels a bit like a a lot of Championship teams are on a road to ruin financially. If we can play things sensibly we will be miles ahead of the pack a few years down the line .

He knew it was close. That's enough for me
Did he ever suggest it was Simms? He’s only mentioned a number 4 and possibly Hamer and been saying since last Friday someone will be announced. Yeah, someone will be announced in the future…

The No.4 thing is interesting but then it’s a free squad number which will be filled by someone.
