Transfer Rumour Sam Gallagher (7 Viewers)

Why is he ‘pretty wank?’

I can’t see Godden being a starter after our transfer business is complete. He hit some really good form in our second Championship season but either side of that was struggle with injuries or form.
We can get better than Sam gallagher especially if the money quoted is even remotely serious (which I doubt )

Be far cheaper to keep godden in the squad than to pay 5 million for a player who scores less .

I'd be OK with it if he assisted lots but he assists less than godden too

Missed the first 20 minutes of yesterdays game so difficult to come to any conclusions but it looks to me getting the right partner for Simms is essential, will be linked to a few and we may have someone in the frame, will cost, fee and wages don’t know about Gallagher so can’t comment but of those I have seen last season someone like Archer would be okay but for me I’d like Joel Piroe who seems to be available, ticks the box and 41 goals in 88 games not to be sneered at, is being strongly linked to the other side of the M69 too, would be a bit of a coup to pinch him from under their nose.
Piroe would cost about 5 million less than vik

It’s only a small difference, but Godden takes our penalties and his ratio isn’t as strong when you factor that into his record. Gallagher as far as I can see isn’t a penalty taker.

How much is the quote for Gallagher? If it’s more than £2.5m, I’d be very surprised we were not more aggressive in getting a player like Yates from Blackpool before his move to Swansea.

I don't see Godden leaving, Robins rates him highly, but I can see him being third choice rather than second.

If Godden had longer on his contract, he definitely stays to fulfill that role. If we can get £500-750k (or more somehow), it’s a move potentially in all parties favours:
- we get a money for a player who’ll be 32 upon expiry of contract
- Godden gets a relatively big contract for a potential ‘final’ big pay day
- a team gets a good finisher

If we sign more players, in my mind, Godden falls down the pecking order. Less game, he may end up not signing an extension or lost some value.

I think it's more a case of MR wanting to find a partner for Simms to get the best out of him, Gallagher has been decent alongside Brereton-Diaz and Dack in the past (I know Dacks more attacking midfielder but still), my main concern is the fact that he's not likely to be that quick.

I'd like us to go for Aaron Collins from Bristol Rovers, not prolific but provides lots of opportunities for others and his work rate is first class.

Relax guys, it's come from Alan Nixon, aka the king of bullshit rumours. When are you going to learn?

Godden goal every 268 minutes without penalties in the championship

Sam gallagher 326

Keep godden in the squad , get a better striker than Sam gallagher

It’s a 2 way thing …. Does Godden want to stay to be a sub ? Is his agent saying to him he can get him another lucrative move ( signing on fee etc ) this summer ?

Swansea would want at least £15m for him

I've just replied to you , delete your nonsense
Why so arsey? Someone has woke up in a bad mood.

If Championship teams like QPR, Ipswich or a L1 contender like Derby have genuine interest in him… you need to account for the possibility Godden may not want to be a squad player in his contract year. Especially if you’re going to be rude in your responses.

If I was Godden, I’d be very open to the possibility of moving on if he’s going to be a 3rd or 4th choice this season.

I'm arsey about the thought of paying 5 million for Sam fucking gallagher when we already have better .. I never wrote the article

Godden being 3rd or 4th choice is fine , we need better than gallagher though

I was never advocating signing Gallagher - I don’t know enough him.

What I am commenting on generally, is that Godden’s stock is going down and he increasingly doesn’t look like a good fit for our style of play.

Robins yesterday was banging on about speed on the ball. Godden often struggles to get into games when we play direct because he doesn’t have the physical attributes to impose himself on the game.

And Robins said in his post-match, “what we need now is pace”. So I can’t see it being Gallagher.

Adam Armstrong?! Sorry, totally wishful thinking there! 😂

He was talking about match fitness, speed of thought, moving the ball at pace and felt our build up was too laboured. Which is a common problem at this stage of a pre season. He was not saying I need to sign someone with pace.

MATTY GODDEN DOES NOT STRUGGLE IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP (LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE AT THE BACK)

26 goal involvements in 57 games is not a struggle (last 2 seasons)

thanks for coming to my ted talk
If Godden doesn't score he offers absolutely nothing but that's applies to some strikers I guess. At all levels

Anyway it's a nothing article as it seems to say we'd be interested if he cost less and earned less!
