Ive been involved in a few betting threads in the last few weeks so I thought why not start a thread to save cluttering up the board...

Bets vs Oldham

I've been very Pro Cov in my bets this week -

McGoldrick hat trick @ 80/1
Baker to score @ 12/1
Fleck to score 1st in a 2-0 win @ 60/1
Oldham Ht Coventry Ft @ 30/1

Non Cov Bets -

Treble on Man City, Liverpool and Newcastle wins, £10 on, returns of £85

What's everyone else gone for ?

I do a nice £20 double your money double bet every week. Doing quite nicely this season on this system.

Got United and Everton today.

Got an accumulater just for fun on,
Man City, Barnsley, Hull, Stevenage and Huddersfield. Not sure on return though.

Play a fiver city win every home game but don't touch them away.

Every week i do 8 homes for £3 and 6 aways but perm the bet with 5 folds upwards for a £1 .Total cost £10

Last week won £80 when 5 out of 6 aways came in , this week won £130 when Leeds ,Watford, Swindon , Crawley and Accrington won ,Blackburn let me down for £1000 +

Usually end up every season in front , so far 7 weekends of bets have cost me £70 with £210 coming back in return .What all punters have to remember is it aint how much you win but what you win .I stand by blokes ticking 15-20 teams every week :jerkit:

Betting is a mugs game you read it here first

I wasnt thinking that last week when my £1 accumulator won me £160 or my mate who won £900 off a fiver a few weeks back, bettings not a mugs game, you just have to control yourself and only bet what you can afford to lose. I've been betting weekly for about 5 years online and can look back at transactions, I'm by far up every season....prefer to put my £1 on the footy than a lotto ticket, I like to think I know what I'm talking about with football.

Also avoid the PL most weeks as games are to obvious for limited returns .Lower leagues you can follow teams in form and win more accordingly

Had only two bets this week. On weds had over 5.5 goals. Was going to do over 6.5 but changed my mind. Had Cov to win today. Have taken Cov to beat MK Dons. Got very good odds for a home game. Have also put more money on us to finish in top 6. Got us at 7. Next available odds now are 2.56 :)

Now that everyone's had their say on wether betting is right or wrong can this thread now just be used for people discussing their bets please ? It's not illegal, some people enjoy putting a bit of money on the footy and this is the thread where people can discuss their bets,

Back to topic

£2 on Coventry to score 4 or more against MK Dons :)
May have gone a little over the top but there's no telling what that win will do for our confidence

Non Cov -

West Brom Ht / Ft £2 on, just because I like to see Villa lose

Had a couple of quid on both tems to score at the weeend, Blackpool let me down.]

Cardiff - Blackpool
Sheff Utd - Notts County
Bristol City - Leeds
Bournemouth - Walsall.

Think it was about 9/1

Been getting more luck with the both teams to score bet that the usual acca to be honest. I had a look at the results over a few weekends in each league, worked out both teams scored in about 60% of games, sometimes more in the lower leagues.

Just had a quick look at the weekends results, only Wigan and Swansea didnt score in the Premier league (2 out of 16)
4 out of the 22 teams in Championship (Sheff Weds, Brighton, Blackpool and Bolton)
5 out of the 24 in our league (Oldham, Crewe, Carlisle, Shresbury and Orient)
3 out of 22 in league 2 (Aldershot, Bradford and Wycombe)

How does this work?

Any 5 from 7 lines would be 12345, 12346, 12347, 12356,12357, 12367,12456, 12457, 13456, 13457, 14567, 23456, 23457, 23467, 23567, 24567, 34567.

Any 6 from 7 would be 123456, 123457, 123467, 123567, 124567, 134567, 234567

All 7 is 1234567.

Write out your slip as usual but at the bottom write in words....depending on amount of games chosen.....say seven games chosen would be 'any 5 6 or 7 from 7 = 25 bets @ £1' or however much you want to put on. 10p lines would only be £2.50

this is actually 29 bets 5 from 7 = 21 bets 6 from 7 = 7 bets

not going to work out the ones you missed but 2 are 13467 and 13567

its maths 7x6/2 = 21 7/1=1 +1 =29

Think I did well considering I had a 2 and 4 year old jumping all over me at the time :p

Was close to a massive win once doing a bet like this about 18 years ago. Did any 5 6 7 or 8 from 8. 7 results had come in all correct. Villa were letting me down playing in a cup game against a non league club or 4th Div if I remember correctly. Then I noticed I had put a 1 instead of a 2. I had their opponents by accident and they were 12/1 going onto all the other winning lines. Villa scored about 4 mins or more into injury time :( Collected £1,700 but would have been massive if they never scored. I have a reason for hating Villa :jerkit:

Where do the numbers come from and what do they mean?

To make it easier look at the any 6 from 7. Choose 7 results. If you get 6 correct you have won. 1 is the first game, 2 is the second game and so on. So each line misses one nimber out from 1 to 7. 1 2 3 4 5 6, 1 2 3 4 5 7, 1 2 3 4 6 7, 1 2 3 5 6 7, 1 2 4 5 6 7, 1 3 4 5 6 7 and 2 3 4 5 6 7. If you get all 7 correct you have 7 winning lines. If all odds are evens it pays 63/1 for a line of 6.

No it's a type of bet, I'm sure online places like Paddy Power do it all for you it you put a load of games in it will come up single bets, accumulator, Yankee etc. or am I wrong ?

Just checked on Paddy Power, pick 7 teams (for example) you think are going to win and you can choose accumulator or 4 folds, 5 folds, 6 folds from 7
